well deserved and overdue.
if you ask me, it should be closer to the top of the list.

the dark vibe of that record is unlike any other.

Happy for Paulie, but a little surprised that Converge is the only Boston band that made the list...

Better than the list in the Village Voice or whatever it was in NY a few weeks back.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Cause for Alarm is the shit. The Eliminator is one of AF's best tracks. They got alot of them, but that record rips form the very beginning.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

I've never really dug Agnostic Front at all to be honest haha.

I'll give you The Eliminator for sure.

damn right.

But Victim In Pain.....I will put it right at level with JCHE in my mind.

Both dirty sounding all the way thru.

Both records were part of a major changing moment in my life as a much younger man.
after years of being a metal dude , I listened to Victim and was like, yeah that's it, with the aggression and rawness and then with JCHE I was like holy shit this is "real".

well enough of me, I've been up for around 30 hours straight now.............

I like Cause for Alarm, but I would have gone with United Blood or Victim in Pain. Cause for Alarm is what got them exposed to a larger audience, so I suppose there is some argument for it being picked.

Anybody read the justifications for their choices? http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2013/08/best_hardco...

No Poison Idea or Negative Approach is ridiculous, especially when they list At the Drive In and Rites of Spring.

Read number 20:

"With trippy, complex guitar work and powerful vocals courtesy of frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Relationship of Command was the north star for post-hardcore bands that followed. Led by single "One Armed Scissor," which received immense MTV and radio play at the time"

realized I knew all I needed to know or care about LA Weekly "hardcore" and closed the link.

At The Drive In and Rites of Spring aren't hardcore. No matter what label people want to attach to it. "Post hardcore" for the most part is when shit starting getting all indie pop. Nothing of that genre should be listed as "best hardcore albums in history." Ever.
