I almost bought a typewriter at a flea market on Sunday.
One of those big corroded metal things from the 1930s.
Thought it would be a cool decoration in my computer room.

kidded with the wife "you ever see one of these?"

she's 33 but I had to be a dick.......

It's like when I was trying to explain sound quality to my nephew. When I told him I that I was listening to a a demo that was recorded on a cheap tape deck in the early 80's I got a confused look in return. I had to explain each thing, what a demo was, what a tape deck was (I might have actually said ghettoblaster rather than tape deck), how it was recorded in a garage or basement or something, etc. After explaining all of that to him, he looked at me and asked why I would actually want to listen to something that sounded so crappy. I decided to keep the explanation of the history and evolution of punk for when he's older, seeing as a ten year old growing up in a digital world might have trouble grasping the concept.
