American Sniper
Great fucking flick. I'm taking into account the fact that Hollywood likely took some liberties with parts of the story, being that it seems to be
standard practice. Thankfully it seems like a fairly honest story, because despite showing his heroic side, it doesn't try say he was perfect.
Kill the Messenger, John Wick, and the Imitation Game are also worth checking out. The Gambler not so much.

Stern was hyping this up, but i didn't see what's so great about it other than Cooper really got into the character, i like more story in my movies
military illegally invades another country based on a lie
guy kills people who fight back from rooftops
war ruins his mental state and relationship with wife
guy gets killed at home after surviving 4 tours
but according to box office totals, this is what americans find entertaining...

It's a propaganda film deal where they managed to release it at just the right time.

Zero Dark Thirty was popular too, it's all about propaganda and hitting the right notes. This terror thing is gonna be a cash cow for tons of US
industries for decades to come.
Now they need to find another bad guy to make another bad guy flick then another hero flick and so on.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Chris Kyle always reminded me of this Stanhope bit
Some troops are assholes.
I plan on seeing the movie eventually, but Chris Kyle is a horrible role model possible role models . If you read his book he mostly gloats about
being a psychopathic asshole. The most redeeming thing about him is that he was really good at killing people and that saved the lives of soldiers.
