The new trend

I was wondering if this had happend in anyone elses area. Down here I have noticed alot more of the people I use to see at hardcore/punk shows growing pompadours and wearing those plastic frame glasses and drinking Pabst blue ribbon like it's evaporating.....whats the deal, is rockabilly the new hardcore??? Maybe it's becuase "hardcore" is not what it used to be and they have moved on to something else? I dunno

If they're older dudes, they're most likely ex-skinheads. Psychobilly, the skinhead retirement plan...

I thought the current trend was playing chugga chugga squeek and wearing ten year old girls clothes. I'm glad to be out of the loop to be honest. All of these trends are for the birds if you ask me.

I'd have no problem with rockabilly being the new cool... maybe it would be cool to be manly again;)

Crucial shit like mental, righteous jams, down to nothing etc etc is the new big thing down here ...

i thought rocking up to a show and seeing everyone in black was gay ... well guess what ... everyone wearing cammo or b-ball shorts is just as gay.

i was drinking PBR for a while because it was so cheap and i was so broke and such a drunkard..they are usually $1 a pint upstairs in the khyber and $5 for a 6 pack of 16ouncers at most delis
i personally like rockabilly, but in most cases when it comes to trends, i have always been on the outside looking in..i remember going to a sick of it all show and being one of the only numbskulls who had long hair instead of that whole uniform look of shaved heads and boots and so on back round 89 or so.....

You are so right JuanD, I love, love , love Rockabilly and "real" Honky Tonk, not that contemporary crap.....anyhow, i am one of those older skinhead retirement plan fags.........I totally used to be one of those dudes who would hang outside of a faggy new wave gothy club and throw beer bottles at the crowd as they spilled out unto the street polluting the world as we know it once again listening to the bruisers and iron cross and thinking I was hot shit. Now I listen to Link wray and pretty much anything on the Golly Gee label, not to intrude on the Thorp thing, the only real hardcore label left in the free world........Blood for Blood, Slapshot and ramallah shoule be well enouph proof of that..........nuff said....I'm drunk on Sailor jerrys Navy spiced Rum again.not that its so bad, my wife digs it yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
