regarding L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology..........
has anyone ever been to a center? And, if so, has anyone on here ever been "Audited"? This shit is pretty interesting.
I just can\'t seem to STAND STILL

I haven't done it yet, but I want to. The more I read about it the more interesting it looks. It's all selfhelp style shit. The way they never
mention any solid beliefs seems kind of cultish though. The founder (Hubbard) wrote a bestseller called Dianetics. It's about how most problems with
the human race stem from mental illness, and that most of these can be fixed. It also teaches manipulation and bulldoging techniques. Weird, but
alot of the information is pretty usefull. In these Audits they give they classify your strengths and weaknesses, personality type, IQ, all kinds of
shit.

I think its hysterical that L. Ron Hubbard was a scifi writer and he wasnt having a lot of success so he sort of started a religion and sold a million
books.

do the audits determine the level you get? (don't they do something where the longer you're a member, and the more money you bring in, the higher
level they make you? and along with the higher levels come more information and secrets about scientology?) or is that completely different?
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

i heard thats how it starts, then to move up you need to give them money. From what i read their core belief is that human souls are carrying the
souls of dead aliens and thats why we have our faults. i also heard you have to confess all your personal stuff and that later on if you want to leave
they use it against you.
just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying

imagine if Frank Herbert started a religion.
Id be reading the orange catholic bible, or the assassins handbook, while going to the cathedral of St. Alia of the knife.
Now THAT would be rad.

once a long time ago...I mean the better of 15 years I was homeless hanging with friends in L.A. and these idiots pulled a group of us off the street
and made us take the test.....
their test said I should be in a mental institution...
and my beliefs haven't changed....
so if running a successful business, and raising 2 great kids, buying a house and doing everything I can to help my friends and family come up as
well, is crazy...
then holy fuck these nut jobs make the fucking mormons look sane and I hope they hurry up and off each other to meet the comet or drink the kool-aid
or whatever thier crazy ass cult believes

it's beyond hysterical really, especially given the prominent role that space aliens play in his religion.

haha - Hubbard's "Mission Earth" 10 volume series is a fantastic read (got all 10 volumes hb on Ebay for under 20.00 shipping and all) - but that
Scientology shit is whacked. It's all about money from what I have gathered. Please note, I'm FAR from the definitive authority on the subject but
everywhere I have investigated, it seems to all lead eventually to the bling-bling.
Self-help is great and all, but I currently enjoy self-help with cold beer. I think this form of self-help is probably a tad bit cheaper than
Scientology.

So what are all of those Scientologists actually doing in the Times Square subway station? Theyre offering a "free stress test" and then it looks
like they try to sell you the Dianetics book. Is that one of these "audits" or just a scheme to make money?
Im probably one of the biggest suckers in the world so I steer clear of those people or else Im sure I'd be walking away with a book. I really want
to find out what theyre doing though, and if they dont reveal very much about their beliefs how the heck do they get people to follow this "religion"?

Didn't Hubbard have a breeakdown and off himself? Great example of self help if I say so myself. Tom Cruise = the biggest tool on two legs.

| I don't think Hubbard offed himself - but I do agree with you about Tom Cruise. I can't remember what
Hubbard died of, but it wasn't suicide (unless my memory is totally off).
