Finally gettin' settled in

So two of my roommates/bandmates and I moved into a new place at the beginning of the month and although I am once again trailer trash, it's fuckin' great. We have so much more room than we did in the old place, there are only three people now with three bedrooms and two bathrooms instead of four people using three bedrooms and one bathroom. We have several acres to run around on, including riverfront property (private beaches, yo), no more parking on the street and hoping our cars don't get smashed by all the drunk drivers on their way home from the bars, not to mention that there's no more annoying engines revving outside our windows, AND we got away from our shitty old landlord (who still needs to pay us back our deposits, fuckin' scumbag). The only drawback is that it's much farther away from work and downtown and with gas prices the way they are (the nearest place to the house was at $3.21 on my way home yesterday), that kinda sucks until you factor in that nothing in this town is far away and I can still make it to work in 10-15 minutes depending on the time of day.

My roommates' cat keeps chasing rabbits. There's fuckin' hundreds of the damn things running around out here. I just wonder what the fuck he'd do if he actually caught one.

A) Torture it playfully (Catch, release, maul. Catch, release, maul.)
B) Leave it on your door step. (Hey! Lookie what I caught! Aren't you proud?).
C) Eat it.
D) Any combination of A, B & C.

No, you don't understand. A lot of these aren't your petstore teensy weensy fluffy wuffy bunnykins, these things are the strung out crack addled monster sized country cousins of those rabbits. We're talkin' jack rabbits the size of dogs here.

In that case, just swap the cat and the rabbit and apply the same four possibilities.;)

I want to move to South Carolina and live in an exact replica of the house from Texas Chainsaw Massacre on 5-10 acres of land with a lake.

.... ahhhh .... dare to dream!

I used to live in a fucked up house in Austin that was used in Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, is that close enough?

That is so awesome Mr. Saint!
You'll have to invite me over one day. We all can run wild in the woods and have furniture bonfires!

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

that is pretty awesome, but I want it just as much for the style of the house as for the theme of it.

The OG house from the first movie was bought by some people and moved 50 milles from its orignial site. When they bought it, it was totally falling apart and stuff, but the people bought it anyway. They broke it up into sections and moved it and rebuilt it. Now its a fancy resturaunt called something like "Four Bears" I think. Pretty crazy!

Consider this an open ended invite, doll. Anytime, anytime at all.

Yeah, there's a movie theatre in Austin called Alamo Drafthouse (great place, they show awesome movies and serve meals during the show, including beer for those who like that stuff) and they occasionally have special events in special locations. They rented out the house, had some of the original cast come out and had a big BBQ dinner in the house, along with a showing of the movie. I think you also got to stay there for a night, but I don't remember. It was way expensive, but not as bad as you might think for somethin' like that. I wish I coulda done it.....

Oh, actually, we have a spare room, so if any of my Thorp family is passing through for some reason, hit me up and we'll work somethin' out.

We're workin' on somethin', I'll let youse kids know when we're ready to expose our shit to the world. The songs we've been writing are definitely different than Crime Pays style, but if you could call that Hard Core, you might be able to get this under that umbrella too. The songs are longer, there's two guitars so we do a lot of stuff taking advantage of that (a lot of Street Rock type leads and even a little Rockabilly influence buried in there from time to time), I'm writing all the lyrics so that's still the same style (although I am trying to push myself to get better all the time). We've already had a few troubles as would be expected in any endeavor I'm a part of, for instance, it took forever just to find a place we could practice as there's pretty serious noise restrictions inside city limits here, we finally got that figured out and had a few solid practices under our belt before we were knocked back down by our drummer getting deported to Japan. Fortunately, he's just gotten back, so we're practicing again tomorrow.

Way southwest corner, 20 miles from the New Mexico border.
