Summer is Over- Anyone follow Hockey?

I know the jackoffs in the NHL lost a season over bullshit but I'm stoked for the NHL to start up. I'm a big St. Louis Blues Fan. I also play in a league. My first Pre-Season game is tonight. I'm stoked.

I also turn 30 tomorrow. Yikes!

I enjoy watching hockey, but I dont really follow it closely. I stopped after the Whalers died. I hope to get to a few Rangers games this year if possible. Live hockey can be so fucking exciting! When I lived in CT I'd go to Hartford Wolfpack games all the time with my friends, and I would get so into it I'd take my shirt off and whip it around whenever the wolfpack scored. If you knew me you'd see how out of character that is.

Interesting little side story. I was at a game once and the Wolfpack were scoring like crazy and I was really into it. Whipping my shirt around and whatever. Well it might have been their 5th goal of the night or something, and I for whatever reason didnt jump up and scream and yell that time, and some old lady behind me taps me on the shoulder and says "Aren't you gonna take your shirt off again, son?"

That freaked me out. I dont like getting checked out by people nearly 3 times my age.

Hockey is expensive man, that's the huge drawback. I miss being able to sit in my basement and watch a game on the tube. October 5th (or 6th?) will hopefully change that for me.

Gooch the flyers are going to be awesome this year. Hopefully Forsberg can stay healthy for you. If I were to bet on a team to win the Cup, it would be them.
