Does *anyone* here think this is hardcore?
Is your local scene as fucked up as mine is?
This is from a post advertising a forthcoming "hardcore" show near me and is typical of the current level of bullshit hype and marketing that pushes
anything even slightly more aggressive than mainstream rock as "hardcore"... check the description then listen to the mp3.
I'm fed up trying to put these fools straight, they just think i'm a cranky old bastard anyways, haha.
Zegota (USA)
Unique, inspiring hardcore from the USA via Sweden. Drawing on the legacy of late 90s hardcore bands like refused and Catharsis (their guitarist was a
sometime touring member of Catharsis, actually, and their new record was produced by a member of Refused), they mix up walls of guitars, raw vocals,
and drums like the heart beat of an escaped hostage.
Zegota and a few bands like them are the life's blood of the next generation of hardcore: their music is anthemic and soulful, cutting edge,
innovative enough to sound like no other band; their lyrics are political and passionate, filled with sincerity and youthful idealism.
