it's definitely still a shock to see people spending THIS much, but i'm not opposed to it. at this level, it's art, not footwear.
i'd rather see a collector pay $15k for a shoe that's been customized by an artist he or she digs, than see hundreds of kids in line to buy the same
'limited edition' sneaker from NIKE for $300.

that's what i mean though. i believe the $15000 pair was an original done by whoever that artist was, sold by the artist. that i'm cool with that.
he simply chose a very in demand canvas.
i'm with you on the expensive, limited-edition, mass-produced ones sold by nike, though.

Until about 6 months ago I didnt even know what "DUNKS" were and I dont think I have ever seen a pair in person.
On HowsYourEdge.com theres a section of sneaker collections and they are crazy!
