"Death & Taxes?East-Coast Hard-Ass Street-Rock

Death & Taxes features Jeff Morris on vocals and guitar, Mike Savitkas on bass and Steve Toland on drums.

Jeff Morris (vocals, guitar) was a founding member of The BRUISERS in 1988 and served as the bands guitarist and chief songwriter until 1996. In 1996 Morris formed instro-rockers the Cadillac Hitmen who released three cd?s and continued through 2004. In September 2005 he joined Bruisers founder Al Barr for a one-off Bruisers reunion at the Roxy in Boston. Death & Taxes was formed shortly after.

Mike Savitkas (bass) also played bass in the Bruisers 2005 reunion show and has played extensively with Morris in the past on several recording and live projects.

Steve Toland (drums) is a scene veteran with experience as drummer for The Boys as well as Monroe County Outlaws and alongside Morris in the Cadillac Hitmen from ?96 to ?04.

In October ?05 the band recorded it?s initial 4 song demo including two rearranged versions of Bruisers songs penned by Morris, ?Forty Miles of Bad Road? and ?Better Days? as well as a new original called ?For the Money? and a choice re-worked and amped-up version of Merle Haggard?s ?Big City?. The sound on the demo is raw and live as it was recorded live to four-track tape and there are no overdubs so the bands powerful live sound is well represented.

The band began playing out live in the fall of ?05 and continues to actively book gigs in and around New England. "
