Pantera + David Allen Coe

I just heard a song called "Nothing To Lose" by a band called "Rebel Meets Rebel" on satelite radio. The band is Darrel, Vinnie & Rex from Pantera with David Allen Coe singing. It was kind of differant. Not really heavy, but not super country either.

The quality sounded like a demo, but they didnt say that it was a demo. I think that theres a full record of stuff they recorded before Darrel got shot.

Might be something cool to check out if your into either of the bands.

Um, BD that's David Allen Grier of "in living color" fame. Sheesh!

Tony Award nominee and graduate of Yale School of Drama, actor/comedian David Alan Grier is one of those unique actors who has yet to be typecast in one dramatic realm. Over the years, he has successfully made the jump from comedy to television to film and still alternates between all three.

David Alan Grier is currently in production on his new series, THE PRESTON EPISODES, which is part of his overall deal with 20th Century Fox including a series commitment from the Fox Network and a feature film deal from the studio's film division: THE PRESTON EPISODES which will be produced by Twentieth Television in association with Grier's production company, has received a firm thirteen episode order from FBC.

DAC was not a nice fella to some people back in the day.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

he definitely had racial tendencies, and I'm not so sure they are not still around, he was the definition of a country "Outlaw" Dude is hardcore.

is he the one that put out a record as Johnny Rebel or do people just say that?

They play some REALLY nasty racist country songs on Howard Stern sometimes that they say are Johnny Rebel. Even though the topics are shitty the songs are lyrically funny.

Coe and rebel are two different people.............I always thought they were one and the same too, but found out they have both recorded racist records.

David Allan Coe released 2 X rated albums back in the early 70's when he was released from prison, the songs were mostly about sex...and a couple of the songs had racist lyrics, one was about his ole lady running off with a black dude,it was called "Ni@#er Fucker"....he no longer plays those songs and claims the he is not a racist (he even had a black drummer for awhile)....now he does songs with Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker,go figure.

But I think he's the greatest country singer/songwriter in the history of country music, next to Merle Haggard.
