This album won't be in stores for another month!

THE WELCH BOYS are a five-piece street punk band from Boston featuring members of SLAPSHOT and THE BLUE BLOODS. Raised and bred on the many great Boston punk and hardcore bands, THE WELCH BOYS emerge with a sound that is a perfect mix of punk rock, Oi!, and east coast hardcore. They were formed in 2004 by the guitarist, and founding member of The Blue Bloods, T.J. Welch. Other band members include Ed Lalli on vocals (Ed also plays guitar for Slapshot), Mark Powers on bass, P.J. Dionne on lead guitar, and Ron Holbrook on drums. The Welch Boys write short, catchy, and powerful songs that emphasize sing along choruses and aggressive guitar playing. They have a sound that is firmly rooted in the punk rock legacy of their hometown, yet unique enough to set themselves apart. Lyrically, they tackle a wide variety of subjects that convey the struggles of working class life all laced with an underlying core of hope and optimism. The band worked with the legendary Jim Siegel (The Dropkick Murphys, Blood For Blood, and The Hope Conspiracy) at the Outpost Studio in Stoughton Massachusetts to produce the effort.

The shirts Steve is referring to will be handled by the band exclusively. I'm not sure if Andy has any plans to do Welch Boys merch.

By the way... what happened to Ed? Haven't seen him on here in a while.

Goddamnit! This would come out on the day I'm leaving for vacation. Hopefully I'll have some money when I get home because I've got a lot of SGR shit to buy now.

I was thinking that too. He might be out on a job. He does lighting and stuff for movies so if he gets a job it takes up a lot of time all at once.

Ed's in Germany with his g/f visiting her dad. The shirts should be available at shows. I've already got one reserved for me. Contact the band and they'll probably sell you one.

Oh yah, the cd also features and enhanced video for "617."

The shirts are sick. Steve did a great job, which from what I heard about him is typical. They'll be up on our website, www.thewelchboys.com later on today.

Thanks again Steve!

Whats the graphic on the shirt? I cant wait for to get the CD and I will totally sport a shirt. Im not 100% into the cover art of the CD for some reason. Maybe I just need to see it in person. Sorry... definitly dont mean to be talking down or bad about it, just my 2 cents. All that really matters are the songs and we all know that those are going to KICK ASS!

I think I have a new favorite band. Could this be the best release of '06'? The 2 songs I heard on the SGR site is way fucking awsome. I will be ordering this. Reminds me I still ahven't got my Angel City Outcasts cd yet I won from the contest of January. I knew it be a while. Just thought I'd ask.

I was in Germany for a week. I had the fucking flu the whole time. I cant stand being mashed into a plane like sardines next to other filthy humans coughing, sneezing and hacking up on you for eight hours straight. Other than the flight it was a good time but its still good to be back.
