I am actually surprised this has taken so much discussion. I actually thought this would be easy. How naive of me.

And I don't get why people are all about Cash. Oh my god, gloomy psudo country! The only song I really dug from him is ring of fire and his NIN cover (which doesn't count).

As for Motorhead.... CAN'T STAND THEM! Lemmy is not god, lemmy sounds like he has throat cancer.

All of this is my opinion of course, and not meant to rile you all up ;)

You know, sometimes it pays to shut your mouth. When you spout off ignorant statements about Johnny Cash, like calling him "gloomy pseudo country". To begin with, real country would not be what it is if it wasn't for the man and there is absolutely NOTHING fake or less than genuine about his music. You're certainly entitled to not like something, but don't give reasons for not liking it that are nonsense. As for Motorhead, why don't you take that one up with the boys in Blood For Blood? I know you're all about them (as am I) and they do a pretty fuckin' good cover of a Motorhead song, so I assume it's fair to call them fans.

Eh, his reasons aren't as bad as you want to think for not liking johnny cash. it's about as good as most of the reasons everyone else gives for not liking other bands, so i hold nothing against him. just like people saying they don't like bands because they "sing about stupid shit." that doesn't have any meaning. we could all argue that what the bands we like sing about can also be considered stupid shit, whether you believe it or not. also...just because a band you like likes a certain band does not mean that you have to like that band by any means. Honestly, who gives a fuck if Blood For Blood are fans of Motorhead, that's their liking. If you and I had to like all the bands that our favorite bands liked, you'd probably be surprised at the shit that would come out or the stuff you would consider shit.

Well put. It is exactly that, my opinion on the matter. How I see the bands. As for me having Blood for Blood as my favorite band.... It may shock you, but I also don't like Sheer Terror. I tried to get into them, but I just never did. As for my comments on Cash, it's my opinion and i'm entitled to it (as un researched as it is). I am not gonna research a musician I don't like just to know why I don't like him. I don't like any form of country whatsoever really. I DO see how he was somthing different in that whole arena of music and set forth somthing that haden't been done, and I can see why people like it (but I don't get why SOO many do that like nothing else even similar to him). But, just not my cup of tea and as I said, it comes off as "gloomy pseudo country" to my ears.

not liking the man is one thing, but pseudo country? why would you call it that when admittedly you don't know anything about the genre?

That is probably why I picked the temr I did. I don't know anything about country but what I do know of country, doesn't sound like Cash. My "uneducated" opinion as far as country goes probably wasn't an accurate view of him but it's still somthing I am not interested in.

don't think anyone was suggesting that you have to like cash, or any country for that matter. it's all a matter of personal tastes. i would just expect the same response if i called stiff little fingers "pseudo punk" or negative approach "pseudo hardcore". see what im sayin?
