Honey, we're killing the Kids

did anyone watch this on Monday night? I' bummed I missed it. The premise is great. It is how how we are feeding our kids shit and they are getting fat. We really need to wake up. Give your kid healthy choices, early. If that is all they know, there is a real good chance they will stick with it.

I was real lucky at dinner tonight. I was having my daughter negotiate with me if she could eat her raw vegetables or some grilled chicken breast. It was a nice problem to have.

Check this link if you don't mind.

I think you have to give the kids a mix of good and bad. My mom was a psycho health nut and there was no junk food in our house really. The more you're denied it, the more yer gonna try and get it. I am a fast food junkie.

An example from when I was a kid. While the other children opened their lunch bags and were delighted to see twinkies and Oreos and other yummy treats, young Discipline had a sad look upon his face, as his mother had packed some of her home made wheat germ cookies. The other children laughed when he suggested a trade.

I watched the show lastnight. It was interesting. Kinda funny when they show the images of what the kids would look like at 40 if they kept to an unhealthy diet. They looked like mentally retarded people basiclly. They do a 3 week plan and every week they are assigned 3 new things they have to do. Like to cut out TV and to do chores and get rid of all the junk food in the house. The 3 kids didnt want to make the diet change but they eventually did and stuck with it pretty well. One of the kids trys to run away which was funny. Ill probably watch the next episode of it.

My son and daughter believe that if they eat vegetables they can grow quarters in their ears (of course i'm the only one who can pull the quarters out though).

I give my kids sweet/ treats every once in a while.

I think i do a good job with making sure they get balanced meals.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

I wanted to watch this show, but I ended up watching something else... I think it was the Ten Commandments.

Prior to that I watched Monster Garage turn a Bel-Air into an electric car run on tool batteries.

Same here. Moving out helped in the weight gain, as did the 8 years of working at McDonalds. Free food 2 meals per day, five days per week, it all adds up.

Although I'd be willing to bet the raisins you got tasted better than the wheat germ cookies I got.:D
