MAJOR THORP RECORDS ANNOUNCEMENT

After 5 years of sleepless, work-laden nights, and a continual state of monetarily uncompensated labor, THORP RECORDS will be opening a new office and become a full time operation starting January 1st. Expect double the releases, triple the effort, and many more surprises in 2005. Hard working music just got harder.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

the crazy thing is: If andy and co. managed to accomplish what they have while working other full time jobs, just imagine what's going to happen when he works full time at the label. This is bigger than most people think it is. Congrats Andy you deserve every good thing that happens to you.

First Thorp band to be signed in 2005?

I say A Day And A Deathwish, The Kill Decibel or In Time. Get going on adding more Canadian content to the label!! All 3 are fucking amazing.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.
