You did that wrong. It should say...

DO NOT CHEAT. Press shuffle or random on your players, and list the first 10 songs and artists that come up. That comes out alot better.

As far as what I have been listening to... Alot of crap. Ludacris, Tech N9ne, Usher, Ying Yang twins, and Pitbull....

.fuck you and all you stand for.

You're right, that usually brings up a more interesting list, but that wasn't what I was looking for yet. I just wanted to see what everybody's got in the CD player or on the turntable today.

M.I.A.-discography

Is that shit any good - in other words, is it hardcore or more on the punk side of things?
Years ago I used to have some M.I.A. vinyl, it a had sort of a surf rock wibe to it, never listened to it much, don't even remember them that well.

The discography is on Alternative Tentacles?

ENT played pretty much stuff that was real fast, thrashy 3 chord distorted HC, with 2 growling and squawky vocalists.
they were one of the best bands to come out of england in a long time, with a real original sound- although some people thought they were a bit of a novelty act.
The labels they released on, (i think)
COR records,
Vinyl Japan,
Earache.

A good starting point would be to buy the "retro-bution"
cd, its kind of a greatest hits type of thing, ive got it at home-
will post on this thread tomorrow with the cat no./ label etc.

Yeah, the M.I.A. discography is on Alternative Tentacles, I had no idea they were still involved in anything worthwhile. M.I.A. are more punk than what is usually thought of as HC nowadays, but they were prime HC in my eyes. Some of their later stuff is on the slower melodic side, but the older stuff reminds me a bit of early D.I. minus the jokes and with better writing and a bit more aggression. How can you not love a band with a song called I Hate Hippies?

My little side note about Extreme Noise Terror, one of my old bands got to open up for them on their first U.S. tour. It ended up being our only show, but it was a lot of fun. We were called Bound And Gagged and played more of the "Power Violence" style of HC, kind of a cross between No Comment and Neanderthal if anybody here knows those bands at all.

" I hate hippies" sure is a fucking good name for a song,
it kind of reminds me of "fuck the neighbours" by adrenalin o.d.
remember those guys?
humongousfungusamongus!

Boycott,

the cd to try to get hold of is;

EXTREME NOISE TERROR
"RETRO-BUTION"
EARACHE
MOSH 83CD

TRACKS;

RAPING THE EARTH
BULLSHIT PROPAGANDA
LAME BRAIN
WORK FOR NEVER
WE THE HELPLESS
INVISIBLE WAR
SUBLIMINAL
HUMAN ERROR
MURDER
THINK ABOUT IT
PRAY TO BE SAVED
CONNED THROUGH LIFE
DECEIVED
THIRD WORLD GENOCIDE

Or an equally good one, but maybe a bit harder to find is;

THE PEEL SESSIONS
VINYL JAPAN / DISCIPLINE
DISC CD19.

this one features shit loads of the bands real early stuff, worth checking out.
