Resolution Contest "Sponsored" by Chris Reed83

This section of the board has dropped off and I want to get it going again. So I decided I would "sponsor" a Life Improvement Contest.

The deal starts July 17th and will run through 9-14-06. Why 0-14? It is my birthday.

This is not a "who can lose the most" or "who can bench the most". This is a who can improved themselves the most either physically, mentally or some other way.

BD had an idea of someone not drink for that timeframe (if you current drink of course)

Basically, I would like folks to post some personal goals that they want to reach by 9-14. Then when that day comes, we add a posting where we all vote to see who made the biggest improvement.

I am not elgible to win but I am participating. The winner will get to pick out a Thorp CD they want and I will cover the cost of purchasing it and shipping it to you.

Are any of you interested? I'm ready to commit to this shit again and it always helps to have others with me. Are you in?

My Goals:

1. Weigh 175 (lose 6 to 8 pounds)
2. Run 3.1 miles in under 23 minutes
3. Bench Press 300 pounds

I currenlty weigh 181 but I'm going on vacation in 2 days for a full week.

is this the honor system type thing where if i say i won't drink for the duration, you would have to trust me to be honest? cuz i would be willing to take a look at what i'd like to improve and even if i didn't win, give it a shot....

I could give up breathing before I give up drinking. It's one of the few joys/vices I have left.

I'm sitting at 262. My goal is to get down to at least 250. Seems no matter how hard I work at this, shit ain't happening. But for once, I have yet to quit trying.

I weigh 237 right now. I want to drop 15 pounds by that time. I would like to start right now. I will post a pic tonight before my first run, and then one at the end of the contest.

Awsome idea by the way Mr Reed and BD.

All great to hear guys. Yes, this is the honor system. The real reward is accomplishing something to improve yourself. Yeah, you'll win a CD but the improvement and accomplishment is where it's at.

Get your info up if you can. I am going to be out of town on vacation until next weekend.

Be good and talk to you all soon.

I haven't been looking in the short term either, because my goal is to be 220. I weighed myself in at 187.8 this morning. But by 9/14? I'll go with an even 200.

As for other shit I need to get done, I'd say I'd need to clean my room. It's not just a normal room cleaning. It's almost to the point of unsanitary. I also want to get rid of some furniture I don't want, but I need to clean first to do that.

Here's my goals:
1.) Get "A" job (I am looking for anything at this point)
2.) Lose some weight (I have TONS to lose. I am starting at 434lb I believe)
3.) I have decided I am interested in becoming a "Cable Guy" so I am checking into what it would take. I guess the small goal would be to get my ass on my way to becoming a cable guy. Seems like it would be a cool / interesting job.

I HAVE been thinking about stuff like that. Recently started slim fast, have been looking for a job forever, so I thought I would post it up. And since I haven't had a job in forever, I haven't had money to buy cd's so that incentive had me post it up. ;)

*stopping by"

Seems like the Creative Juices are starting here. Everyone, pick something that you will be proud of and we will all stick together. Sort of the "Old Hardcore" type of "unity" thing.

You can do it. Just test yourself. I know you can do it.

UNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't give up the drinking, I refuse. I enjoy it so much and I generally keep it to one night a week.
