You name a type of food, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll find it somewhere in Toronto. We are known as the most multicultural city in the world.

We have Tim Hortens here too.

What about Poutine? Ive had it once and it was awesome!

Poutine rules, but to get real poutine you have to go to Montreal. Most places in Ontarion and other provinces just use gravy and sometimes shredded sheese on the fries. For real poutine, you have to use cheese curds and poutine sauce. It's like gravy but it's not gravy, it's just called poutine sause.

I love going to Montreal. Great city to party in with great food. Poutine, Montreal smoked meat sandwiches, and steamed hot dogs. Nothing better.

I never had real poutine. I just had it when one of my friends fathers made it YEARS ago. I know he used gravy not the actual sauce and Im not sure what he did for the cheese. It was still great though, but I would love to try the real thing!

aint nothing better than some wooder ice on a hot summer night

Seriously, Philly runs this thread. God knows how many places try to imitate our pretzels, cheesesteaks, and wooder ice. But what the fuckers don't know is wooder is the secret ingredient. Thats why our rolls are so damn good, and the pretzels.

And seriously California, stop calling slabs of steak shoved in pita bread an authentic philly cheesesteak.

2 of my friends went to Philly to one of the most popular cheese steak places with a bunch of Philly friends and the guys from Phill were LOVING them and scarfing them down soo fast. My friends.... One of the friends ate it and said it was the worst he has had. The other one couldn't finish it. And neither if them had eaten for a day or 2. TRUE STORY. So, as far as I know... We have some places in NH that could HOUSE a Philly cheese steak. I need to try one for myself to be the judge but the 2 friends of mine have really good tastes in food and seriously had not eaten in the past few days due to lack of funds (the Philly friend bought them the steak subs cuz they "HAD to try them")

google has the answer!

http://www.ritasice.com/homeFrame.html

Wooder ice = Philly slang term for Water Ice, which as far as I can tell, looks like what we would call a Italian ice, snow cone, shaved ice, or icee type desert.

the difference is that cheese steaks were invented in philadelphia. other places have tried to imitate them and they are not as good. amoroso rolls are a big part of it. apparently you cant bake rolls correctly elsewhere or some shit . i dunno. ive been to places only 200 miles from here and they manage to fuck it up. mcdonalds had a cheese steak and so does wawa. both are ass nasty shit.

other places call them philly cheese steaks, here they are just cheese steaks , because it is where they originated.

theres a place in norristown that is ten times better than them tourist traps in south philly called pudgies. love that place, but havent been over in years...
when i refer to philly i more or less mean 10-20 miles in either direction of the city as far as food goes just for the geographical record...
