slobdylan, you bought a place in nyc? good job, man. where? i moved out of the city just so i could afford a place. half million for a two bedroom in my old neighborhood in the BK. then the guy from brokeback mountain moved in three houses down, and things got even more expensive. fuck that.

dave - congratulations on your place as well. is it in a city or in the burbs?

we've been in our new place, the first one we've bought, for almost two months. country living is pretty fuckin' different from brooklyn. here's the view from the deck off our kitchen..

Beautiful!. Wow, congradulations everyone!.

We have finally moved in our house as well. It took almost 2 years to finish the house. I want to post pictures up.. actually... i might make a site where all the pictures (start to finish) can be viewed.

It'll be even better once we fix the yard up. It looks like a constuction site right now.

Damn man, that is a nice place! Duane, my wife and i bought a house out on Long Island. We looked in NYC and could hardly even afford a one bedroom apt. It's just too expensive in there.

yeah, exactly what we did, we just went in the opposite direction and a LOT further.
every year we'd save a few extra grand for a down payment, and then the average price of an apt would go up like $75,000. and with the expenses of raising a kid in that city, there was no way we would have been about to have bought there.
well, i hope strong island is treating you well!

I have moved to the darkside, deep darkside.....Cole Harbour, it's so quiet i love it. It just costs too much to buy anything on the Halifax side of the harbour.

Hey Duane i moved to the burbs, my neighbors are older on either side of me but nice, and one drives a big o' harley.

pics will come once there is some kinda order to the house. right now it's cardboard box fun land.

We moved to a small farm town about an hour west of Philly. To drive to Manhattan takes about 2.5 hours. I still come to the city about once a week to meet with clients, but usually take Amtrak. The train station is less than a mile from my house, and I can be at my desk in lower Manhattan in exactly three hours. Kinda crazy, but it works, and I've never been more relaxed.

That's great...I know the LIRR i nothing like the NYC subway system so I can only imagine Amtrak being easy too. Good and relaxing.
