Design Intern Wanted

We're looking for someone to help out with the design-related tasks here at Thorp Records.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The projects you will be responsible for include website graphics, splash pages, ad banners, desktop wallpapers, AIM icons and the like. Depending on how good you are, you may find yourself involved in our site redesign or working on CD layouts or print ads for upcoming releases.

WHAT YOU NEED:
A good sense of style, familiarity with what 'works' in designing for the web, and an understanding of how art is prepared to go to press. Your own computer and a working knowledge of some or all of the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign or Quark, HTML. ...And you'll probably want to be passionate about hardcore.

WHAT YOU GET:
A number of fine pieces for your portfolio (hopefully) and a nice addition to your resume, CDs (duh), and, if applicable, course credit (be sure to get us the paper work).

This is a home-based position. That means you are eligible to apply regardless of where you live 'cause we have no need to see your mug around our offices! We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, so if you are interested, please send your website url and/or some samples of your work to bigduane -A T- thorprecords.com.

Thanks.

^^^^^^^^^^
EDIT:
I should mention that finding someone with experience in graphic design for the web is our main priority; print is second.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

every job needs a foreman, chris!

keep in mind that this is a full time venture for a.k. now, and he's looking to do a lot more this year. so, there are a few reasons why we're looking for some help...
- volume. the more bands we have, the more work there is to be done.
- options. we want to make a variety of new marketing materials available for online promotions.
- growth. thorprecords.com has had the same interface design and (more or less) the same backend since it was launched in 1999 - it's time for an update.

and besides, i waste all my time talkin' shop with all youse on the boards!

Hey, I saw that you guys are looking for web help, I was actually just here to see some fdls stuff but that's cool. I would definitely be interested in working with you guys. My temporary portfolio is up at http://www.lasalle.edu/~willisp1 I am working on a new one along with a few other sites. You should be able to link up to a few sites from that address. I have fairly good experience with Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator. As coding goes I am best with XHTML, javascript and I can do css. I also know some php but not to extensively yet. Hopefully I will from you, take care.

I sent you an email about the design intern position. I am very interested and would love to give it a shot. I know Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, and dreamweaver. I have my own computer. I am done with college, so I don't need credits or anything, I just really love music and want more experience. I also do work for the Bloodshot Hooligans, a hardcore/punk band in CT.

I'm new to the board but I am definitely interested. I have pretty extensive knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator and useable knowledge of Flash, Director, and Dreamweaver. I will be taking programming classes this spring (my major is web design related) so as time goes on I'll be able to contribute more.

Some examples of my stuff (and just a general idea of my web skills) are at http://www.rit.edu/~msn4074/index.html or http://www.notinthathole.com (both addresses go to the same thing but I posted the long one first so that you didn't think that the other one was a joke. There will be more up eventually and I can send more examples if you want.

Thanks a lot.

Position Filled

I'm pleased to announce that Brandon K, aka ENDERA.x, has accepted the design internship position here at Thorp Records. He has an outstanding portfolio, and being a regular on the Thorp Boards, we already get the impression he's a pretty stand-up guy as well. So, congratulations to Brandon!

I'd also like to thank everyone that applied for the position. We received a number of great portfolios, and may very well be in touch with some people again in the future, depending on what our needs are. Thanks for your interest.
