Texas Chainsaw the beginning

This is due in theatres on the 6th of OCT which is this Friday. Who here plans on going? Has seen the adds? what do you think of this film as a concept? I know some "purists" are dead set against it, I personally don't believe it gets anywhere near the original but is alot of fun for what it is. Horror is not meant to be taken all seriously and shit. I can't wait until Friday, I will be taking a half day and carrying my ass to the movies.

I'm planning on going. I actually liked the remake, was a hell of a lot better then that next generation movie.

i don't have high expectations but the concept is kind of cool.

If you like those kind of movies Wolf Creek may intrest you. It is by no means amazing, but gets the job done.

the remake was not anywhere as good as the original.
allot of remakes suck
the first original was so gritty and you could tell it was a budget film
i did however like the remake of the hills have eyes....

I thought Wolf Creek was a HUGE let down.

I liked the TCM remake and I LOVE the original. Part 2 is ok, part 3 is a little less ok and part 4 is awful!

I have pretty high expectations for 'the begining'.

If you like this type of movies check out WRONG TURN. That one was good.

Wrong Turn was fucking incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the TCM remake was cool for what it was. It was fun to watch and the Sheriff ruled. I'll check out this new one.

The sheriff is supposed to play a major role in this one. That's enough to get me to check it out.

Now I'm definitely gonna see it. He is the high point of damn near every movie he's in, from Full Metal Jacket to Saving Silverman to TCM. R. Lee Ermey (sp?) kicks ass.

First time I had seen the movie, me and my fiance rented a motel room deep in the woods of northern NH... Brought my dvd player with me and rented that movie. There was NO ONE else at the motel and they had us on this outter back edge where all there was was woods and mountains surrounding us. GREAT movie to watch in that atmosphere! lol

He gets hurt at the end of the original Tobe Hooper version too man. The truck driver tosses a wrench at him and hits him in the bean causing him to fall down with the saw running and gouges a nice chunk of meat from his leg. Not quite as bad as having half your arm chopped off with a cleaver, but still pretty detrimental to your killing abilities for a bit.

The end of the original is mearly a flesh wound! The loss of an arm in the remake is a little much, but overall I liked the movie. The original is my favorite movie of all time!

I always like TCM 2.... I like the crazy brother "burn her like a rat, burn her like a rat". Me and my pals from the late teens used to watch that shit all the time. The drummer in my old band used to sport a Leatherface shirt with the saw held up and engraved on the saw was "The Saw Is Family."

I loved the remake. TCM #2 is one of my all time favorite movies. It is so good and so bad on too many levels. I can't wait to see this new one. Looks awesome

The dude that did the descent and dog soldiers is the best new horror director.

Dog Soldiers was so good. Haven't seen the Descent yet, but I've heard a lot of good shit about it.

I'm not necessarily fond of all these remakes of horror flicks but theyre serving their purpose. These guys are not remaking them in candy coated wes craven vision type style, theyre doing raw gritty remakes. Sure the originals are better... but by pushing the boundaries of whats horror again out of PG-13 hell, we're getting flicks like Dog Soldiers, The Descent, High tension, Wrong Turn, Hostel, etc...while you may not like every one of these movies... would you rather sit down with one of these or another 'I know what you did last summer 7'?
