Three men have been jailed for life for murdering schoolboy Kriss Donald in a horrific race hate attack.
Imran Shahid, 29, his brother Zeeshan Shahid, 28, and Mohammed Faisal Mushtaq, 27, were found guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh of the
racially-aggravated murder.
Kriss, 15, was stabbed 13 times and set on fire while he was still alive, on a quiet walkway behind Celtic FC's training ground in Glasgow in March,
2004.
During the trial, prosecutor Mark Stewart QC described the killing as "an appalling crime of inhumanity against a defenceless boy".
Kriss was snatched near his home in a random act of racially motivated revenge.
He was taken on a terrifying 200-mile journey across Scotland before being driven to a secluded spot where he was left for dead. Expert witnesses said
they believed the teenager was still alive as his body burned.
Judge Lord Uist told the three that the "savage and barbaric nature of this notorious crime has rightly shocked and appalled the public".
He said: "You have all been convicted by a jury of the racially aggravated abduction and murder of Kriss Donald - a wholly innocent 15-year-old boy of
slight build.
"He was selected as your victim only because he was white and walking in a certain part of the Pollokshields area of Glasgow when you sought out a
victim.
"This murder consists of the premeditated, cold-blooded execution of your victim by stabbing him 13 times and setting alight with petrol while he was
still alive. It truly was an abomination."
Speaking outside the court, Kriss's mother Angela, who was accompanied by her daughter Samantha, said: "We'd like to offer our sincere appreciation
for the dedication that has been shown by Detective Superintendent Elliot McKenzie and all of the officers who worked on the inquiry into the hellish
murder of my son Kriss.
"My thanks also go out to the advocate-depute Mr Mark Stewart and all who assisted him, to all of the witnesses, thank you.
"And of course to all of our extended family, friends and loved ones for their kind support to Kriss's family.
"Justice has been done. Thank you. It is over."

sadly, yes. i dont know how long they'd have to serve though, it depends on the crime i think, and to the judge who sentenced them.
