LOL..... that poster is great!

What bands would be considered 'Emo' at this point?

I don't know but Texas Is The Reason is good shit, and many considered Dag Nasty emo and Can I Say is one of the best albums ever.

you've got to give that guy in the picture some credit though, it takes alot of talent and time to fade your eyeshadow like that.
I think I hate those assholes more than anything for the fact that they've hijacked the term "emotional". Hardcore, almost by definition, is emotional. It's just that it should express emotions like contempt, frustration , anger and alienation- not emotions like "inner turmoil, because like, my parents just understand me 'cuz like I just like need to wear my little sister's jeans to like express how I like feel about how like society just like doesn't understand my emotional needs"

What I call EMO is not what it is today. Today its like they took what I think is Emo and made it like SUPERFUCKINEMO x 1,000

Seriously I remember when the word "EMO" was first uttered way back in the day of 1992.- (sarcasm). And it was about the band LIFETIME. Because they sounded like a whiney hardcore band. then before I knew it I saw ENDPOINT live in Columbus that same year and while the band played Rob the singer began to cry his lyrics........ Yes with real tears. Pretty gay right? Well almost half the crowd began to sing and yes they began to freaking cry. I felt, well I felt out of place and a little uncomfortable. So we started fights with them. Nah, just kidding but I went outside and began to hit on hot "emo" chicks.

That is what I call "emo" Not some gothic confused misinformed douchebag who wears makeup and thinks bands like CRADLE OF FILTH is cool.

My idea of "emo" dare I say it is more "hardcore" than that. I think its the guy that hates alcohol and loves FUGAZI. Who will fight you because you laughed at his backpack that was full of his latest MACINTOSH printed Zine with recycled interviews from OUTSPOKEN, STRIFE and ASHES.

Man I really do miss those days.

I have a video with ONE LIFE CREW live. It contains one of the best quotes I have ever heard any band say live. In fact I want to start a thread about this. Please look for it on the board.

I will have the quote in it.
