This Band Kills It.

I was strolling through HMV last night and came across the new On A Warpath album, so I bought it. Now I am sure most of you this site will hate this band, but for the few that do dig the ultra tough guy, dance floor mayhem, I'll kick your fucking head in shit; this record is amazing. I would compare it to Hoods, Folsom, and Fury Of V. Anyway if there is anyone out there that digs this shit, have a listen to them.

Oh and I also bought some metal. The new Grave album and Watch Them Die, both great CD's.

This band is so corny it isn't even funny. Tough guy hardcore without the tough guys. I'd rather listen to Bulldoze, Denied, Stout, Back Of Tha Neck, Shattered Realm, NJ Bloodline, etc,.

I actually know these guys fairly well, they toured with my brother's band for a couple months when I was with them. I'm not really into em either but as far as being fake, that's not true at all. Corny maybe but not phony.

Yeah I probably shouldn't have said that because I don't know the dudes personally so I don't know what kind of shit their on. But their corny'ness leads me to believe it's a front.

This review didn't help their cause in my eyes either. And if your brothers band is Fight Like Hell, straight quality.

Review by JoeHxC Centerfuse.net

Well hardcore has its ups and downs. On a Warpath is one of the many downs. Starting the record off with a recorded set of voices like a fake fight and then being told They are back again and still "On A Warpath" is just a terrible beginning. In the vein of many heavier bands On A Warpath fails to hit you hard or even impress. I firmly believe the west coast has never provided a truly heavy band. The opening track is very 100 demons with a less then stellar frontman that is too monotone to detect any emotions. On A Warpath tries to be the next big hard tough band just ended up boring me with repeated slow riffs that go nowhere. If you heard of 100 Demons, Shattered Realm, Merauder or new Hoods you get the picture of where this record is going. Less then moving, far from truly angry hardcore that is almost a parody of itself. Tracks like "Fuck All Y'All" and "KnuckleUp" leave me embarassed to be a part of that genre. Then again if you are into rehashed mosh riffs and plenty of crew shout outs you will eat this up the way you're expected. For me, its over a decade old of bands that have done this better and have more street credibility then these guys. If anything On A Warpath is a mockery of what they were about and what they did. But what do they say about imitation being the highest form of flattery???

Belive me, I get the point about the cornyness and Joe's opinion is dead on most of the time......he and I have discussed this particular band at length....but I was just saying because I just don't want people to think they're just total whitebread fakers.

Oh and yeah...my brother's band is Fight Like Hell...thanks yo.
