Most memorable show of 2006

So the year's just about up...What was your most memorable show?

I'd have to go with the Social Decay/Madball/Agnostic Front show I was at in October. Great bands, great crowd. Also coming in possibly at a tie was my first of-age Murphy's Law show for obvious reasons. What about you guys?

I think these happened this year:

- Ringworm, Mindsnare, The Dead Walk! and Stronghold at Enigma Bar, Adelaide. Furnace's banter between songs was hilarious & cunts in Australia just don't know how to have fun when they hear that shit. All bands ruled.

- Champion, Miles Away, Betrayed, Internal Affairs at Engima, Adelaide. Think it happened in February this year but I don't remember for sure, it was a good show mostly because IA & MA stole the show. Champion played nothing old and I was never really into Betrayed.

That's about it. Madball was good but the openers sucked.

Darkest Hour played really good but also played nothing old & the openers were complete ass.

Raised Fist came to Australia for the first time, my 3-4 time seeing them and they are still amazing however once again, openers ruined the night lol. They played maybe 1 new song though & went all the way back like 15 years to play some classics.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

The Blue Bloods, The Pug Uglies, The Ducky Boys, Far From Finished, Darkbuster - great sets by each band, great time. sang with FFF, up front and in the middle the entire show. it was all friends.

The Welch Boys at CBGBs. I always wanted to go and I got to travel down with The Welch Boys. Another good time.

this year for me was not a big year for shows.

IGNITE- in June @ Peabodys. They kicked ass.

SOIA- September @ the Agora. They seemed to me that they were going through the motions though. It was a downer. Or maybe the turnout bummed them out. I ahve no idea but it really showed in the set.

Negative Approach and Circle Jerks at the Fun Fun Fun Fest was one of the best shows I've seen in any year. Other than that, Darkbuster or The Briefs with The Street Dogs in Albuquerque.

Apparently I missed it last night. Gang Green, Bark Hard, U.Y.U.S. and others played in Houston for the Spike Fest benefit. I have been planning to go to this for a month. I have a accessed tooth and my face is swollen and very painful so I didn't go. My friend calls me up this morning to rub in how good a show it was. How all the old head punks were there and how bad ass the CIRCLE PIT was. I always miss the good shit.

Wisdom In Chains/Red Tops/Barricade/BBTG/Backhand in Baltimore. It was the first time I got to see WIC and they blew me away. Plus the few Baltimore shows I have been to have been a blast. Booze, good times and one of the most fucked up cities I have ever been in.

My other favorite was Street Dogs and Ducky Boys in Phila. All the bands playing just seemed to be so happy to be playing so the energy was off the charts.

I did not go to enough shows this year at all. Was the Bruisers reunion show this year or was that last year? Either way, that was the last excelent show I have went to. Ducky Boys at the brickhouse a few months ago was fun as always. I could go see them ANYTIME and enjoy it.

Yes...there's supposed to be one by me with Murphy's Law sometime in February or March.
