Favorite New Band

from 2006? I would say Pulling Teeth. So fucking good. If you like Haymaker and Integrity you'd love em.

WIS has been around though. If you ment you got into them in '06' then thats cool. My bad.

I have no new band for '06'. Seriously new shit just sucks too much. I hardly go to shows anymore and the scene sucks a fat one anymore. Too many young kids without the true mentality. I spend my time thinking of "what was" and not "what can be" anymore.

I was jamming the new DEAD HEARTS for about a month but realized it really was boring as staring at a wall. The lyrics were ok but the music got really tired.

Not sure if they have been around longer than this past year but Death In Custody from Detroit is on point. Saw them play a few months ago and they tore it up.

Pulling Teeth and Wisdom In Chains are two shining examples that there is still good hardcore coming out.

ABOUT TO SNAP

Pulling Teeth remind me a lot of the band they are named after, Left For Dead. A lot of similarities there.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Wisdom In Chains was out in 2005 I believe. I like them, too, but they were not a 2006 "New Band".

My vote goes to: Olde York from NYC

They are really improving day by day. Remind me of a band from the 80's, but can't put my finger on it.

Well, I'm going with The Welch Boys since their album came out April last year or just to be safe, for completely new bands that haven't even released anything yet...The Ear, The Eye, And The Arm (my sister's new band)

Yeah, Death In Custody has been around for a couple of years. Must have been a great show.

Hell yeah. The show had great energy. Only about 15 or 20 were there but it seemed like everyone (including my broken down ass) were dancing or running around having a blast. Throw in a Negative Approach cover and you have money in the bank.
