RATM reunion

The Los Angeles Times have confirmed that Rage Against The Machine will reunite after seven years to play one show as the headliners of 2007's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The band played the main stage at the first Coachella in 1999 and will perform this year alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bj?rk, Interpol, the Decemberists, Sonic Youth and many more.

Any fans? Ever see 'em? Pissed you're gonna miss the reunion?

I like em. I had a chance to see them a few times but always passed it up. Im ok with not seeing them now. I just wish they'd either get back together or something so we dont have to endure Audioslave anymore. That band fucking blows. I was excited when I heard about the collaboration and thought there would be some potential for something awesome. Didnt deliver.

I never saw the appeal
every god damn song was the same in structure and they guy had the worst voice in music
oh they guy makes noise with guitar...so do a lot of people, big deal
damn teenage rebellion packaged on mtv

downset was so much a better band on so many levels and should have been the big rock stars

RATM show at LALLAPALOOZA impressed me back then. They went off on the Police for no fuckin reason. I was suprised a riot didn't happen. As I'm older it seems funny now. Dude was just asking for a police retaliation so it would hype his band up even more. WHAT A FAG.

Anyway they suck and always will suck. Like Scott Ian always says. "RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ARE NOT METAL" Nor are they hardcore or punk. they are just bullshit created for you to buy. They are the machine that acts like its not. Real musical rebels don't charge $40 a seat or $30 a shirt back in the mid -nineties.

I forgot a few things about this band. First off weren't they "anti-corporate" and "anti-everything" of some sort? I remeber seeing their t-shirts in the mall department store. Second, if they are so "anti" why were they singed to a large label? Assuming they were signed by a major label of course.

One night at a party, their video was on and this guy couldn't stop talking about how great they were. I was so tempted to be a dick but he seemed nice so I gave him my two cents and said that I thought they weren't very good. He took major exception to my statement. He claimed that RATM is this generation's Zepplin. I told him that I didn't even know what that meant but I still don't enjoy their music. I just figured our conversation was done but about 30 minutes later he was still a little pissed. He came back and wanted to talk about it.

I told him that no matter what he said, the band is still something I'm not going to listen to. I'm just particular about what I listen to. See ya later right? Nah, he kept at it and kept at it. I told him to just forget it and "here have one of my beers." Nope, he wouldn't stop. So I punched him in the face. I just couldn't take it any more.

He went home right after that. None of his "boys" said anything either. In fact they were rather nice to me the rest of the evening.

I still say, "Fauck that band."

I saw them with the Wu, too. I was at the show when Zack got hurt and then finished the set on crutches cause the place was about to riot. I think it was in NJ. The pit was insane. I like RATM, but agree with MIke (My Own Way) INSIDE OUT would be way better..........

I heard someone say that they were this generations Zeppelin before too. That has to be the most rediculous statement ever.

I was there. I was bummed that they did that protest shit. Luckily I had seen them 2 times before that, so that was the only thing that didn't totally pissed me off.

The best thing that came out of that was that they came back and did a free show at the Troc a few months later. You could only get tickets if you had your Lolapolozza stub which I did. Quicksand played too. INCREDIBLE show!

I honestly can't listen to Rage anymore. I listened to that 1st record so many times that I got so freaking sick of them. I've never even heard of any of their records after the 1st one. I went a good 10 years where I would put it on and would have to turn it off after 2 songs. Though recently My wife was loading it on her ipod and I gave it a listen and I was able to skim through most of it.
Its weird, no other record has ever done that to me.

I DO like Dowset more than RATM, but Downset is pretty lame now. As sad as it is to say it, I wish they'd just stop again.
