First Punk/Hardcore Record You Ever Bought...

not the first mix tape, or friend gave to you, found, stole, copied or whatever, but what was the first punk/hardcore album that you ever bought, record / cd / tape, depending on the media you bought at the time?

this was mine, got this on vinyl, i think it was 1986-1987 got it at this awesome record store we used to have here in town called "Track Records" on Argyle Street. i was hooked from there on in.

Black Flag Wasted Again when I was in Middle School in 7th grade I think.
Some DRI records probably followed (crossover / 4 of a kind)
And I think The Exploited: Live At The Whitehouse.

Actually I forget, but I think those are accurate guesses.

I think that was mine as well!

I also bought COC 'Eye for an Eye' and Social D 'Prison Bound' on cassette around the same time. Not sure which one was first.

I still own all of these.

the first punk I ever heard was the soundtrack to Return of the Living Dead, it had the Cramps, 45 Grave, TSOL, the Damned and some other shit, that was the first time I ever heard punk, before that it was Quiet Riot, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden........you get it. Like I said earlier in this thread, the first official buy was Misfits self titled on tape, I dug the crimson skull so I gave it a shot and fell in love, never turned back.

So far I think it's about a tie between Misfits and ST , DRI is a close second though, I'm curious to see what the Saint has to say on this one

first time i remember noticing punk was in Thrashin'. That chase scene with Wild in the Streets playing in the background left a huge mark on me. Fear, old Chili Peppers....i watched that movie so many goddamn times. Then those Thrasher skate rock tapes and a friend in grade 6 got me into the misfits, dk, suicidal, flag, etc. I got sent home from school in grade 7 for writing mommy can i go out and kill tonight on a desk hahaha. man i can't believe it's 2007.

first punk tape bought = ANTiSEEN- The Destruto Years cassette

first Hardcore tape bought = "Free for All" compilation (Hawker records) cassette (this one really changed my life)...I still have this tape

I had listened to bands like suicidal long before this, but I knew nothing about hc/punk....I was a full blown metal head until 1989 when I discovered the 2 records above.

If I remember correctly, the first one I bought was in about 1982 or possibly '83. It was on cassette and it was The Stooges' Raw Power. Before that I mostly listened to Kiss (I bought Destroyer on vinyl when I was in kindergarten, it was my first record), Alice Cooper, and other stuff along those lines. When I bought Raw Power I had no idea what Punk was, don't even think I had heard the word in any sort of context that I understood. I just saw The Stooges as a crazy, balls out Rock 'N Roll band. Honestly, that's pretty much what Punk is though, isn't it? The first one I remember consciously thinking of as "Punk Rock" was The Cramps Bad Music For Bad People. I followed that up fairly quickly with Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Circle Jerks and many more.
