A MEESAGE TO YOU ALL

OKAY,YOU SMARMY BUNCH OF INTERNET JERK-OFFS....YOU WANT IT? YOU GOT IT.

WE,JOE COFFEE,WORKED LONG AND FUCKING HARD ON WRITING AND RECORDING THE NEW MATERIAL FOR OUR YET TO BE RELEASED LP.WE DECIDED TO PUT A SONG UP ON THE MYSPACE THING TO LET PEOPLE WHO DO LIKE OUR MUSIC HEAR SOMETHING OFF OF IT.

I KNOW FULL WELL THAT NOT EVERYONE'S GOING TO LIKE IT,AND AM FINE WITH THAT.TO EACH HIS OWN.

WHAT PISSES ME OFF IS WHEN SOME COMPUTER COCKSUCKER STATES HOW HE'LL "SHELVE" THE RECORD "NEVER" TO LISTEN TO IT AGAIN BEFORE HE'S EVEN HEARD IT.

I'VE BEEN IN THIS FRIGGIN' GAME LONGER THAN ANY OF YOU CAN CARE TO IMAGINE.I'VE LISTENED TO THE WHOLE "SHEER TERROR SAVED MY LIFE..." NONSENSE,OR MY FAVORITE,"JOE COFFEE'S GOOD...BUT MAN,SHEER TERROR WAS THE SHIT...".

YES,YES,YES, - IT'S ALL VERY FLATTERING.I AM GRATEFUL FOR EVERY MINUTE I'VE HAD IN MUSIC,AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE SO.THE PAY SUCKS,BUT IT'S KEPT ME OUT OF PRISON,SO
FAR.

AM I SENSITIVE ABOUT JOE COFFEE?

YES.

RIGHT NOW,IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME IN MY LIFE.I KNOW I CAN'T ESCAPE THE TRAPPINGS OF ONCE HELMING SHEER TERROR - YOU FUCKERS WON'T ALLOW THAT.
NOT THAT I'M CRYING FOR MERCY,BUT DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IT SUCKS TO GET OFF OF A STAGE AFTER BELTING YOUR HEART OUT AND SWEATING LIKE A BALONEY SANDWICH IN AUGUST ONLY TO HAVE PEOPLE COME UP TO YOU AND ONLY WANT TO TALK ABOUT YOUR PAST?BELIEVE ME - I'M NOT CRYING THE BLUES HERE,BUT AFTER ALMOST 7 YEARS OF DOING JOE COFFEE - ALBEIT,HALF-ASSED,AT TIMES - I GETS A LITTLE DISHEARTENING WHEN YOU PAST NOT ONLY CONSTANTLY COMES BACK TO HAUNT YOU,BUT GETS RAMMED DOWN YOUR THROAT.

TRUST ME - MY GRIPES ARE PITTANCE COMPARED TO THE ILLS OF THE WORLD.I'M ONLY STATING SOME OF THE CRAP THAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH.I AM NOT LOOKING FOR SYMPATHY IN NO WAY,SHAPE,OR FORM.

AS FOR THE WHOLE "GET THE SAND OUT OF YOUR PUSSY" COMMENTS - TAKE A WALK IN MY SHOES,FAGGOTS.I'M DEALING WITH TWO ELDERLY PARENTS,A SISTER WITH LUPUS,AND TWIN AUTISTIC NEPHEWS.AND THAT'S AFTER I GET HOME FROM WORKING THE BAR ALL FUCKING NIGHT DEALING WITH DRUNKEN MORONS LIKE YOU AND YOUR ILK...GIVE ME MY GRIPES ABOUT MUSIC,BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T STEP UP TO THIS PLATE IF YOU FUCKING TRIED.

EVERY ONE OF YOU FAVORITE BANDS SUCK.
INCLUDING MINE.

MY OFFER TO FIGHT ANY OF YOU FOR PAYCHECKS STILL STANDS.

YOU FAVORITE CELEBRITY TO SUCK OFF,
REV.PAULIE BEARER
INCLUDING MINE.

Will learn to Tap Dance,eventually...Will have you broads Hula,definitely...Trust me,you'll see.

That ruled. Post of the month award right here haha.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

agreed, and I can't wait to here more of the new stuff.

I think that it's a goddamned shame that someone with Paul Bearer's talent has to still "work" for a living,I mean you have shitty bands with no talent what so ever, that can't even write their own songs making millions...and then you have someone like Paul, who is one of the best song writers on the planet (don't let your head swell Paulie) in my opinion, and he still has to bust his ass to make an honest living.I hope he makes a few bucks off the next Joe Coffee record, and is able to make a living on his music alone...god knows he deserves it.

I know a lot of people must spout off about how much they wish Sheer Terror was still going, but Joe Coffee is every bit as good, if not better than they ever were. The only reasons I might have more to say about Sheer Terror is (number 1) they were around for a long time and have been on my turntable since I was in High School, and (number 2) they have a LOT more recordings out there. If Joe Coffee ever ends up with even half as many releases as Sheer Terror put out, I'll be one happy motherfucker.

I can definitely understand the frustration of being written off for not being what some anonymous person expects you to be, pretty much my whole life has been about not fitting anyone's expectations and being an outsider for it. I know the bands I've done have always ended up disregarded because we didn't fit in anywhere. Anyway, as far as Joe Coffee goes, I think they easily stand on their own and shouldn't have to be compared to anything that any of the members have done previously. If It was possible to not recognize Paulie's vocals and I had heard this band without knowing it was his band, I would have loved it just as much as I do now.

Me personally, I consider Paul an excellent songwriter. He doesn't hold back anything. Pure emotion. Songs like Ashes, Roses, Close My Eyes put them in a catagory that I held higher in regard than the regular garden variety hardcore band. The lyrics / vocals on Bright as The Stars Were Under are even better. I would like to see him continue his career. I'd like to see him get some cash out of it, because seriously, the guy has been in this for what, close to 25 years now? He never changed his sty;e to suit others / gain succcess while others in the same genre did over and over again. In retrospect, i"ll just say Mr Bearer is one of the more important figures to ever be involved in this little hardcore /punk subculture we all once held so dear. I'll always respect and admire him artisticly. Not to mention he is a pretty funny guy when he is ripping into the Philly audience. I'd hope they come through town again soon.

I still don't fully understand the rant but that isn't a big deal to me. I have never been able to get into Sheer Terror. I have the Bull Dog double CD but nothing really grabbed me. I have to even hear Joe Coffee. Maybe I need to just get off of my duff.

Joe Coffee is definitely a progression from the Sheer Terror stuff. It's more rock oriented and way more dynamic than ST. The lyrics also have a progressive feel to them. Mr. Bearer definitely paints a vivid picture of where he has come from and where he is as well as where he would rather be. very good stuff. If you are a ST purist type it may be hard to swallow as it is VERY different. Since you said ST dosen't really do it for you, you should definitely give Joe Coffee a shot, you may be pleasantly surprised.

As far as his rant up there, we all got problems bro. Don't let the opinions of some anonymous internet person get you so spun up, it definitely isn't worth it. Stick to doing what you love and fuck what anyone thinks about it, you do it for you, not them.

i haven't heard joe coffee yet but am interested now. so, his rant seemed to get some interest in for his band.

not to bad mouth him or anything, but, the rant does seem like he's looking for a little sympathy or he wouldn't have posted it. fuck, i've done the same thing. who hasn't at times. i've never been in a band but i know how much internet fuck heads can piss you off. i've only got like 3 music videos under my belt plus a bunch of live shit, and i hear complaints all the time. it's quite frustrating. good luck to him.

Eh...I've had plenty of bad to horrible press/commentary on releases and didn't ever feel the need to whine like I'm the only person on earth with problems in an attempt for preferential treatment. It's always annoying but jesus, get a therapist.

It's also amusing how this board has always took the stance of being civil and shunning personal attacks yeah the minute this guy does it people go into hero worship mode and its post of the year material?

No worshipping here. As stated earlier, dude acted more immature than a group of preschoolers. If anything his immature ranting detoured me from purchasing or even checking out the new Joe Coffee.

Fuck that shit! I don't give a fuck who you are or what you've done, if yer a douche or acting like one, I'm going to call you on it as I see it. I expect anyone to do the same to me if they feel I'm acting an ass. I was the one trying to clarify what you said to Bearer before he got pussy hurt and went at me as well.

If he talks shit like this to people that have owned material he's released in any capacity I can't imagine how much of a dick he acts like to people who don't like either ST or JC.

They had to make another season after they realized how bad they fucked up by even making the previous "last" season.
