What band has taken the most of your money?

I was looking over my cd collection today and realized how many releases I have by some bands. The band that beats out all the others is Motorhead. I started thinking about just how much Motorhead stuff I've bought over the years and it's a lot.

28 cd's
1 cd box set
At least 7 or 8 tapes when I was young
4 or five records
10 shirts
1 sweatshirt
Concert tickets x 5
3 posters
2 vhs
2 dvd's
1 wallet
1 belt buckle
2 key chains
1 book (Lemmy auto-biography)
countless magazines with Motorhead articles
Paid to have their logo air brushed on a jacket

Probably some other shit over the years too.

Slightly off topic, but I had a dream the other night and my friend and I were drinking "Motorhead Beer". The label had just the text logo. In the dream, we had both concurred that it was the best beer ever.

Iron Maiden would have to be the one.
20 CDs (mostly reissues with extra content) + 8 earlier versions
Definitely had 9 of the early ones on either cassette or vinyl when I was younger
6 VHS tapes
8 DVDs
6 concerts
2 backpatches in high school (Powerslave & Somewhere in Time)
4 guitar tab books
2 other books
Trooper figure x 2
and I can't even keep track of how many goddamn shirts I had

It's not bad. Not the greatest book I've ever read, but still interesting.

I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this... But the band that has taken most of my money... Poison.
Yep, the glam slam kings of noise have definitely taken the most of my money. I have so much it would be pointless for me to try and count quantity by memory.

LPs (including but not limited to limited editions of various releases, and imports)
CDs (includes imports and reissues)
Cassettes (mostly domestic some imports)
Vinyl singles
CD singles
Cassette singles
Posters
Bandana
Pins
Stickers
Numerous concert tickets
Probably 30 T-shirts
4- longsleeve shirts

...I know there is more like trinket novely shit but I cant think of it right now.

Honus... Please post Slapshot collections with details of what you have. It amazes me everytime I see it.

Thats awesome bro! My wife is a HUGE glam rock fan, she still has all the CDs and shit. Whenever she drives I'm either listening to Glam or Crass (her favorite punk outfit) good times. I try not to but find myself singing along every damn time:D

Thats funny. And to show the dichotomy that is my life... My two favorite songs are Poison 'nothin but a good time' and sick of it all 'just look around'. So tell your wife she rules!

...Anyone that wants to know me, those two songs sum me up the best!

Uhm.... its been such a slow process to get all the stuff Im not sure. Let see....

I bought a big chunk of vinyl (with test presses) from Mark McKay and paid him $300

I bought a big chunk of test presses (including Stars & Stripes) from Matt Pike for $1000 but that also included a DYS 'Wolfack" test press and 2 Some Kind of Hate test presses.

I bought Chris Laurias bass for $200

I bought my Last Rights 'Hitler Sleeve' 7" for $250

I bought a shirt that came from the firt runs of Slapshot shirts from Choke for $60

I bought a bundle of shirts that included another of the first run shirts plus one of the bootleg 'Punks Dead Youre Next/Nazi Eagle' shirts for $100

So thats $1910 so far. I would say I'm probably up to about $3500 give or take a little (more likely give a little). Not TO bad considering how rare some of the stuff I have is and how much stuff I have. Im VERY lucky to be friends with the guys and get a decent ammount of merch free, plus Ive gotten a lot of free stuff from Mark. Hell.... Mark gave me the varsity jacket for free!

Honus that shit is insane.

And I'm not much of a collector but I would guess if you could actually find a buyer for it all you could be up in the $10,000 range. I would guess some of those test pressings could go for a few hundred each?

the varsity jacket is the most valuable piece of that collection to me.
there were what, six or eight of em?
EVERYONE has seen the photos.
tha jackets are iconic in their own right.
the day i bought BACK ON THE MAP, i was like, 'holy shit, that jacket is dope'.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

the day i bought BACK ON THE MAP, i was like, 'holy shit, that jacket is dope'.

The jacket is my favorite and it means the most to me because Mark gave it to me as a gift. There are (or were) actually 10 jackets done like the one I have (red letters outlined in white). The 4 guys in the band, Hank the roadie, Skott Wade (of Daltonic) and a few other people had them.

The jacket on the back of the Step on It LP is actually one of the FIRST versions (just white letters). There were only 5 of those. The four guys in the band and Hank got those.

There was one I could ahve bought awhile ago, but the guy wanted $500 and the jacket is BEAT! Its ripped and missing some letters. Its the one that belonged to Steve Risteen the original guitar player. Part of me wishes I had bought it, but it was pricey for what it was. Im sure the guy still has it so maybe one day Ill break down and buy it!

The one thing I am SO SO SO pissed i passed on were the ACETATES for the LAST RIGHTS 7". They sold on eBay for $1000 and I would KILL for them now!
