The Trouble

I just wanted to say thanks to Tire Iron for recommending these guys, I love this CD. I can't believe I hadn't heard them until now. I love Panic but am so weary of Bridge Nine bands I overlooked this little gem. I think alot of people on these boards would dig it, check em out.

I'm glad you dig 'em Voodoo, I wish more bands could bridge the gap between Oi and Hard Core like that. They were one of the main bands that made me think there might still be something worthwhile coming out of the HC scene when they were first coming up. At the time I was listening to Oi and Street Rock stuff pretty much exclusively and had basically given up completely on HC. That was when all the bands getting big in HC were 88 Youth Crew rip offs, Slayer wannabes, or the beginnings of the whole gangsta gangsta thug bullshit. Between The Trouble and Blood For Blood I regained a small amount of faith as it seemed that there were at least a few people who still understood what Hard Core (at least what I would actually consider Hard Core) was all about. Of course, after that my faith dropped down again since there really haven't been a whole lot of other HC bands impress me since then. One or two here and there, but nothing new that could be labelled Hard Core has really hit me the way either of those two bands did when they first came to my attention.

And Discipline, I wish they had done more too. I tracked down their first seven incher even though all or most of those songs were on the full length. The split with 30 Seconds Over Tokyo is where I first heard 'em and a lot of that stuff was redone too. At least there are some different versions of the songs that were redone for the album. As far as I can recall (or know at all) there are just those three releases, not including Bridge 9's reissue, anybody know of anything else floating around out there?

Ah, yeah, forgot about that one. I have that comp and like their cover, but I get the feeling they really resented the whole thing of Slapshot telling the younger scene to give it up.

i you ordered the reissue from B9, you got a live from the rat 7" that has 3-4 songs. i don't know if they still offer it. they were also on some other comps and stuff. i think the oi skampilation 3, where every band did live versions of songs.

Great band and a great album. If you like them you may want to have a listen to Stormwatch, they are a great Oi band as well.
