Website help

I know Duane is obviously a webmaster & there are a few others. I am trying to create a new site, currently using Joomla but I'm open for other CMS applications or just straight up HTML code.

I have home video clips I want to embed in my site and I want a simple way to do it. I have tried to find video gallery's and bots for Joomla but they're fucked and I can't make sense of it.

Gallery has an ffmpeg plugin but I gather I need to re-encode the videos with a specific codec before it will load properly.

I got mpg and wmv files. PHP, HTML or otherwise, whats an efficient way to embed the video to my site from my server? Its on a Unix box, has Fantastico & the following content managers available to play with, Joomla already installed:

Drupal, Geeklog, Mambo Open Source, PHP-Nuke, phpWCMS, phpWebSite, Post-Nuke, Siteframe, TYPO3, Xoops

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

i'd recommend just pasting the code in by hand.

both formats vary slightly in what's required to embed the files, and both have extra variables available that allow you to control the videos in different ways (show controls, autostart, etc).

as opposed to goign through all that here, i recommend visiting this generator:
http://cit.ucsf.edu/embedmedia/step1.php
select your options, click submit, and it'll give you the code you need.

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
