A new design done by me!

In trying to get a website up Ive decided I need to up the quality of my work. So Ive been working on some old illustrations and re-vamping them and not rushing them. Here is one of the new things im working on. I think im going to mess around with the nose and the tusks but as it stands now im very pleased with it. Here are some of the stages I have gone through with it. Let me know what you think of it.

Stage 1- I rushed into finishing this one and as you can see it didnt turn out that great.

stage 3 (cant find 2) Back to the drawing board

stage 4

Cool, you should call him Walvarine.

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

Haha I love this CD. The art is good too though.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Indeed!

Have you ever noticed how crayons are a lot like M&M's? All the colors tend to taste the same.

Lucabrasi, most of my clients would KILL to get a piece of artwork like that.

How much time did you spend on it total?
What's that on stage 4? Looks like pieces of paper pasted on top of the pencil sketch?

I did the drawing in Illustrator so I have the pencil drawing on the bottom layer and on the ones above I did the outline in black and white shapes, which is probably what looks like paper ontop of the illustration. Hope that makes sense. As for the time I spent on it. I started the whole project about a month ago and worked on it when I had time. Im still a newb to Illustrator so it took me longer then what it would take someone more advanced. I probably invested 10+ hours from stage one to where it is now.

the pencil is actual pencil. Its stage 3 that I brought into Illustrator and on a new layer above the penicl drawing I went over it with the pen tool in Illustrator.

As for how you could do it. Think about it like you were using photoshop (I know you know how to use that). I took the penicl drawing and dropped the opacity and click by click with the pen took outlined it.
