There are thousands of graduates out there working in fields totally unrelated to their degrees. They did the courses and maybe had a job for a while then realized hey, this is shit. I want to do something else. Imagine some poor bastard on an OSAP loan figuring out he took the wrong courses for 4 years of his life & is now too in debt to change that? If it was affordable he wouldn't have a problem going back to get a different education and a new career that he enjoyed.

I am an example of that. And not the only one of course, several others in my programs, from both Seneca and Centennial (I graduated from both) all said the same things. *This of course varies depending on who the person is, and what they were/are studying.

Yes, the market changed for my field of study a lot since even four years ago. Now I'm fucked. And I'm paying back a loan for something that was pretty much a waste of time. Moreover, I learned more from working in the field I went to study in the three years prior to and during the study period on my own opposed to from the schools. Personally, all I learned is that I'm in debt now. Was it worth it, no. *This of course varies depending on who the person is, and what they were/are studying.

So now, will I go back to post-secondary and learn even more and risk it, go into debt for a copious sum of capital? I doubt it. I'm discouraged. If I find something I want to do (besides what I thought I wanted to do) that requires more education then I probably will go back. At the moment though, no. I'm just going to try to find a half decent job and start paying back the money I owe already to OSAP.

Might I add that post-secondary institutions are not so much in it for education as they claim and mislead you to be; They are a business, they are in it to make money. Don't ever forget that.

LOL

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

It floored me one day when a person I knew pointed out to me about 10 years ago that they only reason College is around is to make money off you. Its not for you, its a business for them.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.
