THIS IS HARDCORE

Anyone going to this? Michael?

There are actually quite a few bands playing I'd like to see, but I can't imagine sitting through, what, two or three days of hardcore. I just don't have that kind of time any more!

Decontrol http://www.myspace.com/decontrolsince1980
FOD http://www.myspace.com/flagofdemocracy

And pretty much every fest I've been to has sucked, I just don't have the attention span for 30-110 bands over two-three days, so I'm straight on that shit.

Looks like a MUCH better choice to me. There's only a couple bands on the fest lineup that would interest me and I've seen them already. I would LOVE to see Y-DI, Pagan Babies, FOD, and McRad though.

I wouldn't go to the fest simply because its a Joe Hardcore/FSU fest. But last year it was run really good & no shit, probably because they respect this is a Joe Hardcore show and left the bullshit at home.

I'd only be interested in seeing:

Agnostic Front
Blacklisted
Wisdom In Chains
Pulling Teeth
Ringworm
Crime In Stereo
Strength For A Reason

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Thats an awesome fest and its got a great mixture of bands that play different hc styles. Amazing. You don't see that very often.

I thought Cast Aside broke up a while back

Me too, that's why I boldfaced 'em!
We'll see how the individual days shake out. I know it's not likely, but if my bold faced bands play the same day, I'll be there.

I just got word last night that three other local early-90s era hardcore bands are practicing for a reunion show this fall. I'm psyched. More details on that soon.

Now dude has like 3 kids, I think.

I'm so interested in AF... but man, I can't spend all day at shit like that. Not enough money, not enough time, not enough patience.

That fest has some good bands, but I can't do a whole day or weekend of hardcore bands.

I never heard FOD but the DEAD MILKMEN alwayas talked about them. In song and in interviews. I'd like to hear them to see what they were about.

I thought the Street Dogs were playing July 3?

Last year was a blast but it was easier since I was living within walking distance. The big problem I have is most of the bands I want to see play around me in NEPA once every month or two. Plus AF is playing with Municipal Waste and the Hoods less than a month before this down the street from my place.

Unity Fest has some great bands playing. Iron Cross, Murphy's Law, Electric Frankenstein, Joe Coffee, The Freeze, etc. I wish I could make it to that.
