I'm too recent a convert, so I really don't know enough to pick favorites yet.

A question though, what is it they put on the fighters faces before they fight?

thats alekander emelianenko
he is the younger brother of fedor, who is considered by most to be the best MMA fighter in the world right now
alek is ranked about #10 or so
he did 5 years in a russian prison for some sort of armed bank robbery
he is currently my fav.

Sadly, Aleks will always live in the shadow of his brother.

I've only been following MMA for a few years so I can't really say I have all-time favorites. I just enjoy watching competitive fights.

Tank is pretty predictable nowadays. He'll rush the dude pushing him into the fence while throwing haymakers. Then he'll gas after a minute and the other dude will pound on him until the ref stops it or he gets knocked out. He hasnt won a fight in two years and has lost 7 of his last 8 fights.

Surprisingly Tank went for a heel hook in his last fight. I have no idea what he was thinking, but I saw the video and it was funny to watch. After he lost someone in the crowd gave him a beer.

Also, regardless of how much the game has passed him by he was entertaining and a legitimate threat years ago. Plus he's a character and someone I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley.

wow. the fights i saw were all the way back in 2000/2001 and he did pretty much the same thing, but the other dudes wouldn't last more than a minute or 2.

Okay, I've been a fan since the first UFC and have trained in the past with a pro fighter by the name of Thomas "The Wildman" Denny. I would have to say my favorite fighters are the Rua brothers, Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva, Vanderlei Silva, Cro-Cop, and Fedor. I don't give a fuck what anyone says about Cro-Cop, he's still a force to be reckoned with and a great fighter.
