Good, but to me it got way too much hype which kind of ruined the movie for me. People were sucking this movies dick way too hard.

And instead of starting another thread, anyone see The Good Shephard? It was an alright movie, but it's way too long (2hrs 48mins) and by the end of
it, I was sitting there thinking, "Damn, that's it. I sat here for 3 hrs for that?"

that's how i felt by the end of the departed.
it was enjoyable through the vast majority (despite all the dick sucking), but by the end i was like, 'enough back and forth - i'm clean, i'm a rat,
he's clean, he's a rat.'
two things...
- what happened to the envelope dicaprio gave to the chick ben affleck knowcked up?
- and was walberg in the appartment at the end to kill ben afleck because he was crooked too or because he wanted revenge?

I liked it but don't remember it too much. I think Walberg did it because he was crooked though.

The Good Shephard was good, but they definitely could have shortened it a bit.
As for The Departed, I loved it.

Matt Damn not Affleck and Marky Mark did it for payback. The rat was just a play on the whole thing and a commentary on Damons character...there was
absolutley no evidence he was crooked...if was crooked why on earth would he get fired for not playing along with the other crooked cops. Was he
crooked for a third party outside of Costello?

my wife suggested that the envelope the pregnant chick was handed by dicaprio included the same tape that he sent to dude's house (obviously, not
knowing that the pregnant chick would open the mail anyway) and that she passed her copy along to marky mark.
i thought the rat on the railing at the end was cheesy as shit.
matt damon's response before getting shot, however, was awesome.

D, not sure if you know but this was based on a Japanese movie called Infernal Affairs. Cinefiles and movie geeks will tell you that Departed was a
terrible remake of it, but I'm of the opinion that IA moved WAY too slow and was a bit hard to follow and that Departed was a far superior more
cohesive movie. Maybe somthings lost in the translation with the overdubs, but it's still worth a rent if your interested.

I thought she was told to pass her copy to Marky Mark, because he wasnt corrupt.

did that dialogue actually happen? or maybe that's what was in the envelope - a copy of the recording plus a note with instructions. ok, now we're
getting to a little more resolution!

Yeah, I think Marky Mark either knew what was going on or he was tipped off by Leo or that chick.
On a side note, Mark's acting was excellent for that part.

If you guys didn't know, The Departed is actually a remake of a Japanese trilogy called Infernal Affairs. I have a copy of the first movie but haven't
watched it yet. I've heard a lot of people say the Japanese flicks are better then the American remake. I thought the US version was a bit long, but
pretty damn good none the less. Not Scorcese's best flick, but not his worst either.

Saw it, loved it, but it's been too long now for me to get into the detail you guys are discussing. I've been thinkin' about picking it up and
watching it again though, and I think you fuckers just pushed me into throwing down the cash.
