2 Aussie bands you should check out

There are 2 new albums out/coming soon in Australia that you guys should check out.

1) Against - Loyalty & Betrayal (http://www.myspace.com/againsthc) this is the bands 4th release, 2nd full length and it keeps getting better. This one has guest appearances from Nick Jett & Scott Vogel of Terror, plus Vinnie Stigma & Roger Miret also appear on this album. Also check out the 2005 album Left For Dead.

2) 50 Lions - Time Is The Enemy (http://www.myspace.com/50lions) This is the bands 2nd album far as I remember, and if you like Madball or No Warning then check this out. Its not "hey we're No Warning" ripoff style like Guns Up, its more "No Warning were a cool band so they influence our sound a bit". This album is pretty tight & the production is good, worth checking out.

There hasn't been much in hardcore lately around the world I've found enjoyable, but these 2 records certainly make me want to look harder again for great albums.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Mike what was the story with the band Found My Direction? I bought their album some years back, great stuff. That guitar player wrote some hard riffs for a mostly youth crewish type band.

FMD was before I moved to Oz and I haven't really listened to much, forsaken should be able to give you more info on them. All I know is they aren't around now, not even sure if any of the members have new bands going right now.

Within Blood is another good band from the same era, First Blood EP is still a good listen.

I have found out that a new band called Dropsaw has members of previous and current bands such as, the dead walk, arms reach, the ventricle overflow, found my direction & life love regret.
