Death Sentence
No, it's not a band with a cheesy name (well, it probably is, but that's not what I'm talking about), it's a GREAT fuckin' movie.
If any of you grew up watching the old 70s movies on late night TV like I did, you'll love this shit. It's a modern version of the Charles Bronson
"normal family man pushed too far" type movies. Vigilante justice straight up with some serious fuckin' bruatality on display. Yeah, it has Kevin
Bacon as the lead, but he is absolutely amazing in this.
I heard somewhere that it was actually based on a book that the same guy who wrote Death Wish wrote, but I haven't looked that up to see for sure.
Either way, it has that same style to it and it really makes me want to revisit some of those movies I haven't seen in ages.
There were a couple of things that pop out as unrealistic that they could have done better, but there's always something like that in these movies
anyway.
It really does make me think about what I would do if I was thrown into that situation, although I am far from being as removed from the dirty side of
life as Kevin Bacon's character. Anyway, it's definitely one of those movies that makes you leave the theater thinking about the need for a real rain
to come and clean all the scum off the streets, if you know what I mean. I honestly had the urge to look for some scumbags to fuck up on my way home.
I love it when movies actually make you wanna be like the protagonist, it makes me feel like I did as a kid when I wanted to be every heroic ideal I
stumbled across.
Anybody else see this yet?

You know, isn't there a movie with Jodie Foster coming out with a similar theme? The Brave One I think it's called?

Yeah, I just recently saw the preview and thought it looked great so I figured I'd go check it out. It went way beyond my expectations. It's cool to
see a movie like this where they actually put effort into things like acting and getting a good cast. John Goodman is awesome in this too.
I just looked the movie up on imdb and it says it is based on the novel by Brian Garfield, who wrote Death Wish. The book was a sequel to Death Wish
as well, but I can't really see how this could be a sequel so there must have been some changes made.
Here's a link to the trailer for those who haven't seen it yet...

I've got "Not a Pretty Sight" on vinyl, didn't much care for the second album, the first one is stellar though.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

Saw this yesterday. Loved it. I can see a lot of myself with what I would do, in that movie.

saw this yesterday.
good flick.
very raw and gritty.
fair balance of story, characters and action.
fight and shootout scenes were pretty realistsic and intense.
i got "goosebumps" when Kevin Bacon says, "you ready?"
John Goodman nailed his part, but i wasn't real thrilled with "the bad guys".
i will definitely watch this on DVD.

the bad guys were slightly corny. In real life, more likely than not, that gang wouldn't be interracial, wouldn't drive matching muscle cars (how
inconspicuous!), have tribal tattoos all over themselves, or wear that nu metal garb that some of them wore...BUT...the movie is still good.

| Yeah, this was the worst part of the movie to me. It seemed like they got caught between not wanting to make
it a racial issue and have the gang be black and wanting to kind of follow in the whole thing of movies in the past several years that have had white
inner city gangs. It seemed like someone was trying to hit all the "urban youth styles" at once without really doing any research on the subject. They
still managed to make a pretty damn good movie and I guess I didn't mind the bad guys too much just because the people I see that look like that in
real life all need a serious beating anyway.

Here I was thinking the band name was "Death Sentence Not A Pretty Site"... haha noob.
I got the unlabelled mp3 of this in 160kbps and have never even heard it.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I wan tot see this absed on your guys opinions.
My cuz saw it the past week and said it was over the top and weak, but he's a douche.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.
