I bought a 80GB Ipod Classic today. Now the fun task of putting all 2000+ CD's on it.

I ordered the iPod Touch. After reading about it and watching the walk through I bought the hype. Watching video on an iPhone is awesome so I
figured the Touch would be equally cool for video watching on tour. I just cashed in a bunch of credit card reward points...I might have to get one
of these like Dak got, for my music.

looks like I might have to grab a 80 GB. I now wish I would have waited on the 30GB. Whatever I'll give that to the wife and I'll use the 80 GB.
Any chance they beef up the IPHONE in the near future? With more IPOD features and GB's?

probably not until early next year.
they have a delicate balance of price and features between the classic ipod, ipod touch and the iphone.

The iPhone did just drop $200 in price though so that could mean a version with more GB coming soon!

it's possible, but i doubt you'd see it in '07.
my guess is that the current line up is what they'll offer through the holiday season.
the price drop was probably due to the fact that sales were already slowing. sure, they sold a fuckload quick, but there is only SO much of a market
for $600 phones (the $499 4gb wasn't selling at all). at $399, the iphone just got put onto so many more christmas lists, it's not even funny.

What is the differnece of the old 80 GB verse the new 80 GB. I got a old white 80 GB one on hold for me at BEST BUY for $225.00 So I can choose the
new 80 GB when it comes in for 250.00. I can save a couple bucks by getting the older one but if it a better smaller etc model I'll pay the extra
money to wait. However if realistically its no difference then I'll get the older model.

there some differences between the 'old' 80gb ipod and the new 80gb ipod 'classic', but nothing major...
- new user interface
- coverflow
- thinner, all metal design
the real reason, in my opinion to go with the new version is that apple will support it longer. we have to 3rd generation ipods in our house, and
there hasn't been a software update for them in years. they still work, but there are no new features and no new fixes. the one you have on hold is
5th gen, the ipod classic, the newest, is 6th.

Fuck 160GB now? I got my 80GB maybe 6 months ago. The new touch ones look like hell to navigate through, how hard would it be to keep a steady hand
tracking shit on a train or walking really.
The only feature I like is browse by artwork, if they bring out a new firmware for the video models to browse by art I'd be stoked.

I can say that navigating on an iPhone, which the Touch will be pretty much the same, is great and really easy.

I'll wait for the new IPOD to be in stores then I'll get the 80gb. I like the idea of all metal verse half. Plus the graffixs seem to be better.

Fucking steamed, I got my 5th gen 80gb in February and they bring out this new 80gb classic bullshit with cover flow to browse by art work. I've
wanted this from day 1, there's no hope in hell they will release an update for the 5th gen models to have this feature.
