Apparently Randy is big on acting right now.

I read a statement from Dana White where he wished Randy best of luck and blah, blah, blah. What was interesting to me was that he said that if Randy wants to fight again he still has him under contract. So from the sounds of it he can't just jump to M-1.

apparently he is under contract for only 9 more months
we shall see
a 9 month build up to randy vs fedor would be huge

yeah unreal
i think randy is right
he has nothing else to prove in UFC
whats he gonna fight silvia again?
fuck all that
without fedor in UFC, there is no reason for him to be there

and now with fedor in M-1 that in and of itself makes M-1 something to pay attention to

I thought their contracts were based on # of fights, not a set time.

Either way this is kind of a shocker and will definitely make Dana White look shitty. Not the mention leave the heavyweight division a big fat mess once again.

yr right
but apparently randy has some stipulation that he is able to leave at any given time
and his set # of fights were in a certain time period

who knows really though

Dude, Randy vs. Fedor a good fight? What the fuck? Fedor will beat the shit out of Couture. I mean, I like Randy just fine, but give me a break. Fedor is gonna fuck that old man up.

I'm under the impression that the contracts are for the minimum of number of fights and length of time. That would make sense, since that way the UFC couldn't get pissed off at a guy and not give him his last fight, but keep him under contract indefinitely. As it is now, guys still have to wait out a contract... that's why all the guys from Pride who didn't go to UFC have been fucked over and have not been able to fight, like Gomi and Josh Barnett.

eg. Supposedly, Crocop has a 6-fight, 2-year contract. So, if he does six fights in under two years, the contract is done. Otherwise, it expires after two years, even if there's still fights left.

But I think Randy just wants his last fight to be against "the best", so this makes a lot of sense. I see him retiring, win or lose, after fighting Fedor. Then Fedor can beat the shit out of Barnett.

No matter what, UFC heavyweight division is looking like shit again.

I read that Randy still has two fights left on his contract with UFC.

i agree that fedor would/will win
but to count randy out to that level is just silly
and this is coming from someone who is not a huge randy fan
he has been counted out before

again, fedor would win no doubt in my mind
but not to the point that you seem to be saying

I don't think this fight would be as black and white as one may think. If I really had to pick one winner I would put my money on Fedor, but you never know and Fedor will not destroy Randy. It will be a hard fight for both of them.

The UFC has been all about upsest as of late, it has made it kind of hard to call this stuff.

Hey the outcome of Randy/Fedor is anybody's guess. If you asked me less than a year ago I woulda told you Cro Cop would murder the whole division. Instead he's looked like an early elimination from The Ultimate Fighter. So who the fuck knows?
