Atreyu

We seem to talk about this band a lot for some reason. I've admited to liking their first victory release. I remembered they had a new record out. Downloaded it and am listening to it now. I gotta say that this is exactly how I imagined hard rock growing too on the radio, in a good way. Its very rock but its got some balls to it. I'll probably end up buying it.

I've refused to take the time to listen to them thus far.

A-GAY-u? No thanks. I can't stand 3rd rate rip offs of 18 Visions, and 18 Visions is bad. They wen't rock years ago, while Atreyu was still trying to do what 18V did in the late 90s.

Fractures In The Facade of Your Porcelain Beauty was their first ep on Tribunal, I enjoyed that for ages but haven't heard it in a while. Might give it another shot this week and see if I can stand it still.

Sort of like From Autumn To Ashes, loved Too Bad You're Beautiful and eventually got over it, probably like it now once or twice a year.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.
