go out for predawn xmas shopping today?
i saw ads on TV saying stores were opening at 4 fucking AM.
I'm sorry but it's gone too far.
I slept until 10:30.
Going out to buy that 3M window insulator shit and some foods. perhaps some booze.
I won't be shopping until like a week before hand.
I dread it.
I hate rude ass fuckers in stores.

Fuck that shit... I can't stand that whole trend. I wanna punch people in the face anyway when I'm in the store on a normal day. To get up at 5am and have to fight someone cuz they only have 10 portable DVD players for $20 each? Fuuuuck that.

Ill admit it... I went out. I woke up at 7:50am and knew that the FYE by my house opened at 8:00 so I ran down there incase they had a Nintendo Wii (they didnt). I went to a few other places, but didnt really get anything and didnt go anywhere that there would be a huge crowd.

I went to Best Buy yesterday, but I went around 8:00. The last two years I went there when it opened at 6:00 or 5:00... whatever it was. I didn't have anything in mind to buy. I just wanted to see how crazy it really was on Black Friday. There are some really good deals to be had, but it was too cold yesterday to wake up that early.

I had planned to go to Staples in the area. Actually went there at 1:30am and there was already 20 people. I wanted what everyone else in line wanted... $350.00 laptop. Me, thinking they would only have 12, thought of a better plan. 2 towns over there is another Stamples that is ALWAYS dead (where as the 1st one I went to was the most popular). I drove to the other one after admiring the line wrapping around the building for people waiting to get into Best Buy (seriously, it wen from the entrance of Best buy, across the front of Barnes and Nobles, down the entire side of the building and out back. Mind you, this was at 1:30am. What the people thought they were gonna be able to get for a deal with such a long line is beyond me (except for the people in front obviously).

So, I got to the other Staples at 2:00am and it was a ghost town. SILENCE! Not a car in sight so I parked. I went and placed my folding chair right next to the door as a marker saying "Hey, my spot!". About 2:30 the first car pulls up. Some 18 year old nerdy kid. I got out of the car (kid kinda looked scared) and had him roll his window down. Basically said "Hey, i'm sure you would rather stay in your warm car then sitting out front. If you cool with staying in cars just go put your chair out to mark your spot." Kid was cool with that and as cars rolled in I kept doing that and everyone was cool with it. That worked till about 3:30 when too many people showed up. So, I sat out there from 3:30 - 6:00 (one of the few stores that didn't open at 5:00 unfortunatly. Was it worth it???.......

Here is what I got, what I saved, and what I spent.

Laptop $350.00 (original price $500.00)
Digital Fram $50.00 (original price $80.00)
2 gb SD Card $12.00(original price $45.00)
2 gb Micro SD Card $14.00(original price $55.00)
2 gb Micro SD Card $14.00(original price $55.00)

My total: $440.00
Total original price: $735.00

I saved: $295.00

So yes, it was worth it.

Also, I am DAMN happy I went to the other Staples since A: I got to sit in my car till 3:30 instead of getting in line at 1:00am and B: They only had 15 laptops so I would have been pissed waiting for "nothing".
