One thing is certain
There is some very shitty music.
Headbangers ball, whatever that shitty rap mtv and all this garbage rap now a days. Come on, seriously, most of the creavite and origniators of the
rap genre must be pissed and annoyed with the garbage out now. Right?
Metal bands, pop bands and whatever they all fucking suck and look, sound like carbon copies of one another. I can't tell the difference from a PIG
DESTROYER or a NILE or HORSE THE BAND. WTF? THEY ALL SUCK.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

Well not to be a dink or anything but Nile and Pig Destroyer sound quite different and are both pretty damned good. Horse the Band on the other hand
is pretty lame though.
I do agree though. Most music these days is incredibly recycled. Metalcore seems to be the worst around right now. It's all about breakdowns and sweep
picking runs and literally every new band sounds the same. There seems to be a lack of new bands just playing straight ahead hardcore as these new
kids seem to think that hardcore is death metal riffs mixed with "brOOTal" breakdowns and sweep picking wankery.
I think the fact that all bands look the same is pretty silly too. I guess people in heavy bands have always had a certain look but these days you can
tell that the people are going out of their way to look a certain way. The fucking swoop haircuts, vintage band shirts and tight jeans is getting
stupid. Not to mention that the kids in the band are probably 18 at most and have only listened to Iron Maiden for two months but bought their ultra
hip retro Iron Maiden shirt off ebay and think they are metal as fuck.
In short, fuck music. Well, lame music at least.

Yeah I gotta say that Pig Destroyer & Nile are definitely standouts on there. The rest of the shit they play is trash, like Bullet For My Valentine,
Otep, Black Tide, August Burns Red... who listens to this shit?!?!
And Horse The Band is the worst shit ever.

Nile put out one of the best metal albums in 2007, band is solid and live its crushing. Pig Destroyer is pretty good too.
Horse The Band demo had 1 good song, Bunnies. I remember when it came out & I first heard it, it was so hilarious mostly because of the nintendo
sounds but I never got into anything else they did.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I printed shirts for horse the band....
does not make them good...
but then they got too big for us...
they are all gimmick
as for why most bands suck now,
I have said it before and I'll say it again...
it's all about tone
back in the day you could tell when a maiden song was played...
same with judas priest, anthrax, early metallica, sepultura...
they all had a different tone but ere all metal as fuck...
now everything uses the same cabinets and the same shitty settings and you can't tell 1 fucking band from another
same is true with hardcore
a.f. did not sound like soia, not jsut i nthe riffs, but in the sounds of the amps,
now everyone sounds the fucking same (hatebreed) and it sucks...
do you think a band like the dead kennedys could come out today in this punk/hardcore scene and be seen as anything but a joke?
withthe way they played, they way they sounded and the songs they wrote...
the camo shorts crowd would have nothing to do with them...
punk is dead, as is metal, as is hip hop...
we were sold to the mall, and to teenage girls...
and now we cranky old men get to sit back and talk about the good ole days...

I actually say an interesting video on tone. It was Steve Vai talking about hanging out with Eddie Van Halen and when Eddie was playing through Steve
Vai's gear it still sounded like Eddie. Every band now uses 5150's or Mesa Boogie and it all sounds the same.
Vocals and guitar tone is what helped shape the classic metal and hardcore bands. Fuck you don't even need to hear vocals. When you hear the strat
through a Marshall tone you automatically think of Maiden. Slayer has always had a very recognizable tone as well.
Too many bands and no creativity is one of the problems.

^^^^^^^^^ Damn another good point. So the instrument is generic and widely used but what makes the sound is what determines its performance? Makes
sense too.
Wasn't Steve Vai a sponsor of Peavy? or was that CRATE? I can't remember.
