I like them. they played a metal show (they are far from being metal) here in Haverhill a couple months back. I was very impressed, considering I
never actually compliment bands, that's sayin' a lot.

maybe the demo just sucks but it sounds weak. I'll have to check out more.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

I can see the Choke comparison style-wise, but the difference is that Choke sounds good. I thought the vocals were kinda bad.

I think that Dave Smalley and Dickey Barret are pretty similiar to Choke.

While I certainly wouldn't mistake him for Choke, he does sound very similar. I actually like all the songs on their page pretty well, I just think
they need MUCH better production. It's hard to hear anything but the vocals clearly and that's gonna make any kind of HC or Punk band sound less than
stellar.

the sound could be better, but for a demo it´s ok.
i guess when i´m drunk, i would sing along to "still in mass" quite loudly.

New song has much better sound and is another good one. I'm diggin' this band. They still need some work, but I could see them doin' pretty well not
too far down the line.

I sent it to Choke... he said that they have a similar growl, but the kid sucks.

I have to say this is a pretty hilarious thread.
So, yeah Slapshot was a band that I loved growing up, but my voice is my own. If you listen closely (and yes the recordings are not up to par yet,
only been a band since last March and there is this thing called money we don't yet have) you should also see the other influences of Dead Kennedys,
Meatmen, DYS, Bosstones, Toe Tag, Minor Threat, Black Flag, etc.
We started the band because there is a lack of bands playing good old school hardcore/punk. Love it or leave it. We don't care, we are having a blast
and getting fans along the way.
If Choke thinks I suck, no chip on my shoulder. I am doing what I am doing because I love music. Not because, I am trying to win the affections of
people who paved the way for bands from Boston. I will always love his stuff.
Take a listen and decide what you will. Any and all comments are welcome on our myspace. Good or bad, we don't care. We are in it for the fun.
Hit me up if you want a demo. http://www.myspace.com/refuseresistband

Don't worry dude I am not an emo-bitch. hahaha. I was not insulted at all. I know you do.
I am shipping the demo off in the AM by the way.
My response was so that the readers here know where we are coming from. As much as I love the bands that influence me I don't want to replicate them,
or be seen as a knock-off because what we do is very different when you put them next to each other.
I love people speaking their minds whether good or bad. Everyone should say what they want when they want. Tell me I suck, or I am great. As long as
you are always true to yourselves. I am.
And, we play second at the RI show on the 31st and it's free. You can get back in bed with plenty of time to sleep for work the next day. Haha.
Coca-cola on me bud.

what I heard you guys sound more punk then HC.
