Where the hell have I been on these guys? I have been listening nonstop for three days now. Awesome stuff.

Six66Mike - 11-12-2008 at 07:06 PM

Lift The Curse is amazing, I still listen to it atleast twice a week. Sweet album cover too.

^^^^^^^^^^ Fuck ya it does. I had the colored 7" with skarhead, the MUSHMOUTH and OUT TO WIN releases. They went down hill in my book though.

I liked Out to Win. Haven't heard any Mushmouth.

JawnDiablo - 11-12-2008 at 08:56 PM

Same band, same sound, different name. I think it had something to do with a copyright or something.

^^^^^^^ SHIT DUDE. LIFT THE CURSE WAS THE BEST THING THEY EVER DID. No matter the band name.

I still got that split with Skarhead somewhere, picked it up in Buffalo at Warped Tour along with the 25 Ta Life/Skarhead split, both transparent it's cool.

^^^^^^^ I had that too. The MUSHMOUTH/skarhead was BLUE and the 25 ta life/skarhead was yellow.

IF you got that and don't give a shit for them list it on ebay. If I remember correctly I got nearly $30 each for them. That was back in 2003 I believe.

Six66Mike - 11-13-2008 at 04:14 AM

Mine are back in Canada still, will reclaim them one day.

BKT - 11-13-2008 at 11:06 AM

The album they put out before Lift the Curse with the Boxers on the front was also really good. I saw them play with No Retreat and Strength for A Reason in Toronto one time. The show was amazing.

They just changed the name necause Mushmouth didnt sound hardcore enough if I remember right from an interview. Kind of stupid. was a cool name.

clevohardcore - 11-13-2008 at 12:15 PM

Ya people were confusing them with SMASHMOUTH.

Siczine.com - 11-13-2008 at 01:26 PM

I always thought it was because of legal issues with Fat Albert's Mushmouth.

Jason the Magnificent - 11-13-2008 at 01:40 PM

he has a band?

Siczine.com - 11-13-2008 at 02:15 PM

of course not. But in terms of copyrights/trademarks, does it matter whether or not Fat Albert's character Mushmouth had a band?

They changed it because no one was taking them seriously with the name Mushmouth.

Edit: Didn't type out my whole thought. The name definitely didn't give the right impression of the band. I know a lot of people who just assumed they were rapcore.

Six66Mike - 11-13-2008 at 07:21 PM

Dug Mushmouth more than Out To Win, loved the style and rage behind it.

MarkV - 11-13-2008 at 07:30 PM

Was there really a discernible difference?

Six66Mike - 11-13-2008 at 07:40 PM

A small one :) Still rocks either way

MarkV - 11-13-2008 at 07:43 PM

I only heard a very small portion of their stuff once they changed names.

BKT - 11-13-2008 at 10:45 PM

it was not nearly as good as their old stuff.
