I bought a 80GB Ipod Classic today. Now the fun task of putting all 2000+ CD's on it.
BDx13 - 9-11-2007 at 08:09 PM

Still don't own an Ipod.JUICE MAYNE MSHC - 9-11-2007 at 11:09 PM
I ordered the iPod Touch. After reading about it and watching the walk through I bought the hype. Watching video on an iPhone is awesome so I
figured the Touch would be equally cool for video watching on tour. I just cashed in a bunch of credit card reward points...I might have to get one
of these like Dak got, for my music.clevohardcore - 9-12-2007 at 12:53 AM
Did the classic 80 GB go down in prioce yet? I might grab one.Dave - 9-12-2007 at 06:20 AM
80 gig in canada is only 279$ now.
i'm thinking of getting oneBDx13 - 9-12-2007 at 06:36 AM
the classic is 80GB for $250, 160GB for $350
those are far and away the best deals apple has offered on thir ipod line.clevohardcore - 9-12-2007 at 09:37 AM
looks like I might have to grab a 80 GB. I now wish I would have waited on the 30GB. Whatever I'll give that to the wife and I'll use the 80 GB.
Any chance they beef up the IPHONE in the near future? With more IPOD features and GB's?XHonusWagnerX - 9-12-2007 at 09:41 AM
Holy shit theres a 160 gig now! Damn... Im jealous!BDx13 - 9-12-2007 at 09:59 AM

probably not until early next year.
they have a delicate balance of price and features between the classic ipod, ipod touch and the iphone.XHonusWagnerX - 9-12-2007 at 10:27 AM
The iPhone did just drop $200 in price though so that could mean a version with more GB coming soon!BDx13 - 9-12-2007 at 10:43 AM
it's possible, but i doubt you'd see it in '07.
my guess is that the current line up is what they'll offer through the holiday season.
the price drop was probably due to the fact that sales were already slowing. sure, they sold a fuckload quick, but there is only SO much of a market
for $600 phones (the $499 4gb wasn't selling at all). at $399, the iphone just got put onto so many more christmas lists, it's not even funny.DAK - 9-12-2007 at 10:51 AM
I paid $249.99 before tax at Best Buy.DAK - 9-12-2007 at 03:05 PM
I have put 13GB on so far. This shit take too long.clevohardcore - 9-13-2007 at 12:21 AM
What is the differnece of the old 80 GB verse the new 80 GB. I got a old white 80 GB one on hold for me at BEST BUY for $225.00 So I can choose the
new 80 GB when it comes in for 250.00. I can save a couple bucks by getting the older one but if it a better smaller etc model I'll pay the extra
money to wait. However if realistically its no difference then I'll get the older model.BDx13 - 9-13-2007 at 01:10 AM
there some differences between the 'old' 80gb ipod and the new 80gb ipod 'classic', but nothing major...
- new user interface
- coverflow
- thinner, all metal design
the real reason, in my opinion to go with the new version is that apple will support it longer. we have to 3rd generation ipods in our house, and
there hasn't been a software update for them in years. they still work, but there are no new features and no new fixes. the one you have on hold is
5th gen, the ipod classic, the newest, is 6th.Six66Mike - 9-13-2007 at 02:06 AM
Fuck 160GB now? I got my 80GB maybe 6 months ago. The new touch ones look like hell to navigate through, how hard would it be to keep a steady hand
tracking shit on a train or walking really.
The only feature I like is browse by artwork, if they bring out a new firmware for the video models to browse by art I'd be stoked.JUICE MAYNE MSHC - 9-13-2007 at 09:53 AM

I can say that navigating on an iPhone, which the Touch will be pretty much the same, is great and really easy.clevohardcore - 9-13-2007 at 10:50 AM
I'll wait for the new IPOD to be in stores then I'll get the 80gb. I like the idea of all metal verse half. Plus the graffixs seem to be better.Six66Mike - 9-13-2007 at 12:20 PM
Fucking steamed, I got my 5th gen 80gb in February and they bring out this new 80gb classic bullshit with cover flow to browse by art work. I've
wanted this from day 1, there's no hope in hell they will release an update for the 5th gen models to have this feature.
fuck appleDAK - 9-13-2007 at 12:26 PM
I have nothing in my coverflow. I don't undersand how it works yet.BDx13 - 9-13-2007 at 01:46 PM
dak, do you have an itunes store account?
if not, create one.
then go to your itunes/preferences/advanced and select 'download cover art'
Ok, thanks for the info.clevohardcore - 9-13-2007 at 02:17 PM
the cover search is pretty fucking sweet.
Mike, I know bro,. I bought my 30gb in May. I would have waited but whatever. Besides I had no idea 30 gb would already be used up now with cd's I
have. Everyone told I would only need half of the memory. Even the store clerkJUICE MAYNE MSHC - 9-13-2007 at 02:28 PM
there's always something bigger and badder around the corner. I ordered the 16gb iPod Touch...next year they'll come out with a 32gb version when
solid state drives go down in price. The way I look at it is, it's kind of like buying car, driving it for 3 or 4 years, then trading it in and
getting the newest best model. The old iPods can always be sold on eBay and then you'd have some $$ for whatever the new one is.Six66Mike - 9-13-2007 at 10:02 PM
I'm gonna see if I can sell my 5th gen 80GB and upgrade to 80 ot 160gb classic.
Do you HAVE to use the itunes store or can I upload my own like in itunes?BDx13 - 9-13-2007 at 10:43 PM
for what, the cover art?
you can use your own and it'll still work.
just takes longer if you don't already have the art.
regardless if you use itunes to fill in the covers or you use your own, they're all stored locally on your machine for use with itunes and on the ipod
for use with, well, you know!clevohardcore - 9-13-2007 at 11:26 PM
I am really getting into this MAC thing. I found myself looking forward to a interview with Steve Jobs in the Clevo PLAIN DEALER. Weird
